Chick-Fil-A Brand Approval Rating Plummets
Towelroad ^ | July 28 2012 | A. Towleroad

The controversy caused by Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy's interview, in which he said the company was "guilty as charged" for making large donations to anti-gay causes, has not been good for the restaurant's brand, GLAAD reports:

Chick-Fil-A and the Top National QSR Sector were measured with YouGov BrandIndex's Index score, the company's flagship brand health measurement.

The Index score is an average of key scores measuring quality, impression, value, reputation, satisfaction and willingness to recommend. All measurements were filtered for adults 18+ who have eaten fast food in the past month. The Top National QSR sector average includes such brands as Pizza Hut, Arby's, Papa John's, Domino's, Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, and Long John Silver's.

Chick-fil-A's index score has dropped 26 points since Dan Cathy's interview:

YouGov BrandIndex measurement scores range from 100 to -100 and are compiled by subtracting negative feedback from positive. A zero score means equal positive and negative feedback.

On July 16th, the day the Baptist Press published its Dan Cathy interview, Chick-Fil-A's Index score was 65, a very substantial 19 points above the Top National QSR Sector average score that day of 46.

Four days later, Chick-Fil-A had fallen to 47 score, three points below the Top National QSR Sector average score of 50. This past Wednesday, Chick-Fil-A had a 39 score compared to the Top National QSR Sector average score of 43.

As if I give a smelly Obama about GLAAD. (Hmmmm, on the other hand, GLAAD probably loves smelly Obamas.)

This phony poll was done just so they could write this headline and then the media would tout it all over and hope that life imitates propaganda lies. But this time it will not. No. Never. No way, No how. Nunca. Quoth the Raven, “Never more.” I guarantee it.

Chick-Fil-A is going to be more popularl than ever!

ON the page describing the "QSR" ratings here, the following appears:

Methodology:
These brands were rated using YouGov BrandIndex’s Buzz score which asks respondents, "If you've heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?"

So this is not a measure of opinion of the brand, but the frequency of the talk from others. Hardly an indicator of popularity with the respondents.

Relax, since when is it a “crime” on FR to be a journalist? Aren’t FReepers constantly bemoaning the fact that liberals appear to “own” the media? And now that we have one in our midst, how is he welcomed? “NOOB”, “TOAD”?

Proper forum etiquette dictates you ping the FReeper you’re discussing by name.

Also, if you want the mod’s attention, either hit the “abuse” button or ping them.

The OP’s original comment is in line with a conservative viewpoint, it’s not like he didn’t comment or ignores posts to him.

Besides, I’ve commented on several of his threads related to the queers and the Boy Scouts. Nothing yet to indicate he’s a “TOAD” or troll.

18 months later and he’s stilled called a “Noob”? Is there a rule somewhere that a FReeper can’t post within a certain timeframe for fear of being called a noob or troll?

I’m going to call bull**** on this also. I’ll bet between 5 and 10% of the people in this country are even paying any attention to this dustup by the queers. Chick-fil-A’s approval rating hasn’t done ****! The fags really need to stop trying to be a bunch of bullies and get a life.

Chik-fil-a is ran like a business SHOULD be ran, they are never in Debt and always run a honest ship.

They could give a crap about what any made up polls say, in fact I would wager the chik-fil-a marketing/advertising dept is 1/10th or less the size of ANY other of the Fast Food chains. I would wager the only line they worry about is the BOTTOM line in terms of sales and could give a rats squalor about “manufacture public opinion”.

Basically they let the food and service SPEAK FOR ITSELF. and they are going to use this “controversy” in the most cunning way ever, but simply not responding to it... GASP...

Meanwhile people who see the “Self Appointed Thought Crime Police” attack them will garner Sympathy FOR chik-fil-a and will be buying MOR CHIKIN, while Chik-Fil-A lives rent free in the brains of the MSM.

Homos and Muslims have a common enemy in Christ.

Pointing out the “hypocrisy” won’t phase a leftist in the least.

Lately, the lines to their counters are longer than usual. In fact, a lot of customers have reported that the lines ran out the door and around the building.

Of course, the pro-homosexual website you’re posting from is more credible than eyewitness accounts.

By the way, how the hell do you measure “brand approval?” Whatever it is, it sounds a bit perverted.

I would hope that they do look at all my posted pieces and comments; I post from both conservative (Peter LeBarbara’s Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, World Net Daily) and liberal pro-gay (Towelroad, The New Civil Rights Movement in Amercia) sources.

All of my posts have been under “homosexual agenda” tag because that is what chiefly interests me at this juncture.

I would hope that I would be judged by the totality and tone of my postings, my comments, and my responses at Free Republic, all of which have been sincere. ( a total of 130 threads and 987 replies).

Neo-conservatism is a relative moniker; I am socially conservative in a manner not many under that label are.

Best regards; SJ

Our local CFA outlets here in suburban Richmond, Va are, as the gays would say, ‘packed’...guess they are further enraged that no nation-wide chain caters to sausage lovers.
