Here Comes the 'Hispanic Obama'

[SNIP]

....Based on my limited interactions and after reading more about [San Antonio Mayor Julian] Castro, it is clear that he is superficially very different from the older Latino leaders but very similar in other ways. The most prominent Hispanic mayor in America is Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Before Castro was born, Villaraigosa was at UCLA leading the openly racist, secessionist, and anti-American group MEChA. After engaging in protests to try to get the ChicanoStudies Department to give money to an openly communist group, he dropped out of UCLA and attended the unaccredited People's School of Law. He took the bar exam four times and never passed. While in the state legislature in California, he suggested that legislators who supported Proposition 187 to deny welfare to illegals (which the overwhelming percentage of Californians voted for) "don't belong here."

In terms of style, the difference between Villaraigosa and the young, Ivy League-educated, and conciliatory Castro could not be clearer. But in terms of the actual positions they take on immigration, there isn't much difference. They both preside over sanctuary cities, promote amnesty for illegal immigrants, and oppose Arizona's SB 1070.

In many ways, the difference between Castro and leaders like Villaraigosia is similar to that of a younger Barack Obama and the old-guard "civil rights leaders" like Al Sharpton. It's hard to remember after his divisive presidency, but Obama used to portray himself as a post-racial president who would unite America........

I'm not the only one making the comparison. Last year, the New York Times Magazine put Castro on its cover with the teaser "The Hispanic Obama." This was no doubt meant as praise by the Times, but for patriotic Americans, the fact that the Democrats are putting him on the fast track to national leadership is cause for concern.

The competing power-seekers in the Dim Party will, as our Framers intended, interfere with one another's plans unless the frontal politics of Obama's Communist friends manages to defeat this wise provision of the Framers.

The CPUSA/Obammunists are integrators. The Hispanic racists are the opposite: they are nationalists and racists along the lines of Slobodan Milosevic. Their goal, however, at least in the NALEO faction, is to obtain "swing-bloc", "catbird-seat" political power and then use it to extract concessions from the divided (by Obama) and demoralized (by Obama and the civil-rights and homosexual movements) American majority.

Then they intend to extract spoils on the principle articulated by La Raza's leadership as "por la Raza, todo; por los otros, nada." That "strategy" will get them civil war, defeat, and expulsion.

IMO, the one that is closest to Obama’s imaginary life narrative is Ted Cruz.

His actual name...on the real birth certificate....is Barak Caesar Obama. He’ll want to admit it ninety days out from election day. Oh, and his mother was briefly married to a Jewish guy for a week, before divorcing him.

......”Paradoxically, Julián Castro’s appeal to fellow Hispanic voters may be limited by his own assimilation. Although he pronounces his name “HOO-lee-un,” he doesn’t really speak Spanish — a fact he isn’t eager to advertise. La Raza put a high premium on the mother tongue, but Rosie Castro spoke English to her sons, and Julián studied Latin and Japanese in school, while Joaquín studied Latin and German. A lack of Spanish fluency isn’t unusual in San Antonio, especially among Castro’s generation, but in the immigrant barrios of Houston and the colonias south of Interstate 10 down to the border, Spanish is the first and often only language. A Mexican-American with statewide political aspirations needs to be able to do more than pronounce his name correctly. Early in his administration, Castro assigned his chief of staff, Robbie Greenblum — a Jewish lawyer from the border town of Laredo whose own Spanish is impeccable — to discreetly find him a tutor. Rosie Castro’s son is now being taught Spanish by a woman named Marta Bronstein. Greenblum met her in shul.”......

Perhaps Marta Bronstein can also work with Villaraigosa, which is not the name he always used, whose Spanglish is execrable. East LA gangbanger Pocho that is, sort of taco-joint street jive much given to gang-signs and calling each other "Ese," i.e., "That guy!".

When Spanish-language media tried to interview him, it turned out to be an impossible task. Speaking of Spanish Tutors From Shul, there is a Sephardic Spanish equivalent to Yiddish ... Ladino ... spoken by the Jewish communities in Spain, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. That'll work.

MECHA ... Villaraigosa's group with the goal of foundation of Aztlán and confederation with México.... is a great acronym. "Mecha" is Spanish for "fuse." As in "light the fuse."

The Peoples School of Law, LA:

We only admit those students who, regardless of their quite varied political, spiritual, cultural or social backgrounds, have demonstrated a commitment to progressive social change, have an awareness of working class issues and will employ the skills gained at the school to further these goals in their own way.

Our graduates work as lawyers, state and federal administrative judges and commissioners, activists and union organizers, labor and legislative leaders. All have shared the unique and galvanizing experience of graduating from the only non-competitive, cooperative, student and community-run, progressive law school in the world!

Re: Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, compared to Julian Castro in the above posted story:

AUG 3, 2012 - OAKLAND - Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa caused a stir when he told Yahoo News the other day that he’d like to be governor.

....”Not to say that I’m not happy in my vocation,” Brown said, “or in any hurry to vacate it.”

Villaraigosa, chairman of the Democratic National Convention this summer, told Yahoo News he doesn’t want to be president.

“The job I’ve said to people I would like is I would like to be governor of the state of California,” he said......................
