Anything is better than throwing your vote away to put Obama into office

obama may think that his path to reelection includes the effective support of conservatives who didn't get their way in the primaries, but we don't have to go along with that thinking. To be clear: I'm not so depressed with not having a solid conservative to go up against the Democrat Socialist that I'm going to provide support to obama ... as you say you are going to do.

Please think about what you are doing by supporting obama's reelection. At this point, the only way obama's persistent attacks on Americans and on our Constitution can be stopped is with Romney, as disappointing as that may be to you.

(BTW - I am not a "you people ... running Romney". As a staunch conservative I did not vote for Romney in the primary, but I will sure as heck vote for him in the general.)

Goldwater was not the GOP-e candidate in 1964, that was either Rockefeller or Taft.

In Fact, William F Buckley mocked the establishment in comment. After Goldwater won the California primary it was said by someone by that only rich voted for Goldwater, Buckley torted “that certainly would make California the land of opportunity”

Sorry you people made a big mistake and he’s still a loser.

'you people'?

Many of here take great issue with the Repub-e's per RNC et al. With the battle within our Party; can only say, that 'they won'/we lost - this time.

There is a most critical 'bigger picture' here, of course re this election; but why bother to paint it; for you people. . .but it does speak; to not just the 'you-me/we' loser debate.

It does speak to the greatest threat of all; when it comes to our Country and Constitution and America's recovery or continued free-fall into not just irrelevance; but assured oblivion - if there is no change up, in November.

(For any other time, in American History; your 'choice' might invite a yawn. THIS election; as you must know; IS America's most critical turning point; since Independence was declared and fought for; wherey be America began the greatest moral experiment in Government. November 2012 is a vote 'for' the experiment to survive.

(Might add too; the very name, principle of this website 'Free Republic'; could easily end, with a stroke of the Emperor's pen. Just give 'O' a few months. We have already seen his rule by 'dictate'. Fail to understand how anyone here; can underestimate the threat; given that we continue to witness (and decry here) the sickness of Obama, Inc. and all so associated. )

That is why he presented his competing budgets, to make explicit the choice.

What competing budget? - the Democrats have never offered one.

It is a cynical strategy, knowing that balancing the budget will either raise taxes or cut spending, to offer no alternative. This keeps you innocent but able demagog your opponent.

Rockefeller turned out to be an outlier ~ not part of the GOP-e which has historically had a fairly strong uppermidwest component ~ the 'old money' so to speak. You should check out Mrs. Goldwater's bonifides sometime. Curl your hair.

The big problem with Rockefeller was he didn't have VOTERS behind him. The cultural corruption had gone just too deep in the NE. We still haven't pushed back on that problem and every election we lose more and more up there.

The sad thing is, this portion of your parody...

“Talent, I say, in championing legislation that will give billionaires untold trillions of dollars in tax cuts, destroy Medicare and Medicare, starve the poor and elderly in doing away with Food Stamps, remove from the voter rolls all Blacks, Hispanics and Gays. And finally, Ryan will ramp up the continuing total war the GOP has on women and their reproductive rights.”....

...is probably not too far from what Obama would/will say. And the lapdog media will report such words in a favorable light, and the uninformed public will believe it, because “it’s on TV ya’know”.

I’m predicting the Slow Joe will be replaced, sooner than later.

May well happen. Many believe the obvious pick would be Hillary. But there's bad blood between Obama and the Clintons, and the Clintons don't forget. I'm not sure Obama would want to go down that road.

How very Christian of you, to deny Romney his clearly stated conversion, reinforced by his praise for Ryan’s strong Pro-Life stance.

“not even if he had Jesus running with him”

A very unnecessary statement in order to make your point.

And that’s putting it mildly.

The logic is you are running a loser and he will lose. I take no pleasure in that. There is still time to pick a real candidate and set loose this leftwingtard baggage so many GOP-e types think we need to attract Democrats.

It does not work that way with them ~ when given a choice between a real Democrat and a fake Democrat they'll vote for the real thing every time.

Your and other's persistence in pushing this loser off on the voting public is simply amazing. Are you blind or something?

i don’t think anybody has yet said that you can’t be a real Christian and vote for Romney, but that’s in the same category. So, are you suggesting someone is not being Christian by criticizing Romney?

We didn’t get one ~ and that was due to corruption in the Romney ranks.

Too late!

The White House just came out with exactly that response.

Great analysis. Thank you very much.

One question: What, exactly, did Paul Ryan propose on Social Security that caused such a firestorm against him? I recall it going largely unanswered. And I am concerned that unless he comes up with an ironclad response, it could cost us dearly with seniors.

I could never support Ryan, no. Even if he wasn’t running with the most liberal governor in history.

Paul Ryan supports, and has supported, legislation that fails to provide equal protection for all, as the Constitution explicitly and imperatively requires. If you’re not pro-life for all, you’re not pro-life.

This is a status quo pick. Even the congressman’s vaunted budget plan is nothing more than a bandaid on a gushing artery.

Ryan said NO CHANGE with existing recipients ~ i think he gave an age cut off ~ so maybe unemployed folks in their 40s might well be concerned more than anyone else ~ and that’s several tens of millions eh!
