If you don’t happen to subscribe to Glenn Beck’s “The Blaze” newsletter or Web site (GBTV, etc.)....you may not have heard the WORST Progressive story. They actually had one of their lawyers defending a driver....who ran a red light and killed a young woman; a Progressive customer.
All in an attempt to avoid paying on her policy. I s**t you not. Go read about it....it will make your blood boil.

Ever see a close-up pic of that broad?
She’s lookin like road kill.
Well, road kill with way, way too much lipstick!
For the first four times or so I saw her, it was cute and amusing.
Now it’s just grating as hell!
Put her, that stupid lizard, and Godzilla in a cage together. Please!

I am THRILLED that this story has received the attention that it deserves.
Wil Wheaton (actor on a Star Trek spin off) helped expose Progressive after seeing it on Twitter.
All of this heartache and trouble over $75,000.

I’ve always thought she was ugly as sin, even on camera with all the makeup. I would be amazed to learn that she wasn’t a carpet muncher.

Lewis is 79 years old, Soros is 82. At what point will we be rid of these public nuisances?

From this
great article on Medaite , also screenshots of Progressive's tweets before they were scrubbed:
Basically, Progressive is saying that Matt Fishers facts are wrong and that they sent no attorney. He then responded with another blog post, doubling down and giving the name of Progressive attorney he remembers being there.
I guess thats the end of it, right? Its now Matts word against theirs. Done.
Or, at least, it would be. If this werent 2012 and the Fisher family didnt have the entirety of the Internet on their side. Within an hour of Progressive posting that statement, Internet sleuths went and found the original court records from the trial. And, sure enough

These jerks promote using a transmitter to track your driving habits so you can get a lower rate. They say nothing about using the data to cancel your coverage or raise your rates.

Progressive could fire her then cut rates across the board by 2% for existing customers.
It would be the greatest advertising cop in history! Their phones would be ringing off the hook, and they’d be able to charge what they want!
Put a fork in her! She’s dun already!

Add Jimmy Carter on that list.

The story is a bit disingenuous. Every insurance company acting on behalf of uninsured or underinsured coverage steps in as the “other” insurance company. That's the way it works. You are now suing your own insurance company, just like you'd sue the other company, because the other driver doesn't carry enough coverage. They're then going to act just like you were not their insured. The company is in it to make money and keep from spending any more money than they have to in order to settle a claim. As a former claims manager I know how it sucks to have to handle something like this, especially when it's a fatality. The thing is, it's still a business just like a bank, bakery, drug store, etc, etc. The idea behind a business is to make money for the stock holders not be everybody’s friend. I do find it hard to believe that they'd even blink at $75k for a fatality though. My guess is there's more to the story than just the brother's version of it.

I have heard Glenn Beck discuss this tragic case yesterday and today. I immediately called my sister who is a Progressive client and told her about this situation. Bill O. had a segment about Progressive and its founder a few years back. They appear to be homo, drug and Lib friendly.

Internet justice is a b1tch, isn't it? The public relations fallout is going to be brutal. Pity it won't be enough to sink the company.

I never listen to Beck but had the radio on briefly and he was talking to the deceased's brother. I was appalled but not surprised.
I may have a friend insured with Progressive; I should pass along the story.
