14-year-old steals car, crashes on Parkway after leading officers on chase [mother blames car owner]

PENN HILLS, Pa. —

Police said a 14-year-old stole a car on Sunday then led officers on a chase that ended in a crash on a Parkway East ramp.
.
.
Channel 11's Dave Bondy spoke to the mother of the 14-year-old accused of stealing the car. She said what her son did was wrong, but the owner of the car made it too easy for her car to be stolen.

"My son was wrong for taking that vehicle but someone jumped out of their car and a 14-year-old seen the opportunity to take the car. He didn't break the car to steal it. They left the keys in the car. I think as an adult we have some type of ownership to being responsible for our vehicles," the boy's mother said.

Troopers said the chase was called off before the teen flipped the jeep on the Parkway East. The boy's mother said she doesn't think police should have followed her son.

"He had to no right to chase my son. It could have been a situation where maybe it was just a joyride down the street. Maybe he wanted to go further than he felt like walking," she said.

Video of interview with the mother at link. So, if the 14 year old criminal dies as a result, the mother will sue the car owner for leaving her keys in the car. maybe the owner will be prosecuted for a hate crime too?

Leaving your car running unattended, as many do on cold winter days, is a crime in the People’s Republic of Maryland.

He had no right to chase my son, my son was just taking a joy ride.

Black people have that right.

Why wonder why these kids are disproportionately suspended from school. This mother is the answer.

LOL, this cracks me up. They probably used the jaws of life to extract this single occupant from the wreckage but he is stilled referred to as "accused".

Dave Bondy spoke to the mother of the 14-year-old who stole the car. FIXED!

The interview with the "mother" is incredible. She seems to have no limits on her ability and willingness to rationalize.

"I think as an adult we have some type of ownership to being responsible for our vehicles,"

She does, however, have serious limitations on her ability to construct meaningful sentences.

This is nothing new. A judge in CA once blamed the car owner because he or she left the keys in a car. A kid took it for a joyride.

OK, b1tch have it your way. If you become a victim of a sexual assault, maybe the cops shouldn't intervene, after all, that poor individual needs help and is only venting his frustrations.

With all due respect, it’s about time we start thinking about means by which we can 1) remove US citizenship from this idiotess, and 2) ship her anywhere...just not here.

She is NOT an American...heck, she is barely human.

Get her and her idiot son outta here... now.

No, the sad fact is that it is NOT incredible. We’ve have them justifying everything from robbery to assault. “My son didn’t to deserve to be shot for robbing that store” is pretty common in a certain socio-economic and ethnic group.

The sad part is, they won’t drag the mother in as an accessory.

“My little Johnny would never do ANYTHING wrong!”

That statement has been the bane of the teaching profession for the past five decades.

Combine that “and if you say he did you’re a racist” and you see where the social disintegration is coming from.

So, because the car owner left the keys in the car (admittedly a dumb thing to do), the kid had no choice but to steal the car.

If you park your vehicle where a 14 year old black kid is milling about, and then take the keys with you - that's racist. You are making an assumption that the kid will steal your vehicle.

However,

If you park your vehicle where a 14 year old black kid is milling about, and leave the keys in it - that's irresponsible. You are equally culpable if that kid does steal your vehicle.

The only acceptable option (to assure everyone that you are both responsible and not a racist) is to park somewhere where there are no 14 year old black kids milling about and take the keys with you. /s

Right, they should have been out delivering vote for obama leaflets instead. Wanna bet this kid is on medicaid? Best outcome here would have been if the troopers put on in his head. Good for him, good for the taxpayers, and good as an example. After all, in the old west, steal someone’s transportation and you got humg for it. Worked then, works now.

Meanwhile, the one who left the keys in the vehicle is no world class intalect herself. Leaving keys is a vehicle is simply DUMB. Now she gets to work out the details with her insurance company and will get screwed by them as to the value of the SUV.
