"Bless his heart, I don't want to pile on Todd Akin, because in some respects I understand what he's trying to say here, and standing on principle, that he doesn't want to be perceived as a quitter. But you got to know when to hold them and know when to fold them," fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin said on FOX News today.

I saw that Akin has until September 25th to go to court and get out
Aikin got his information about pregnancy/rape from John C Wilke, MD of the National Right-to-Life http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/x946184320/Akin-pledges-to-stay-in-Senate-race-despite-legitimate-rape-remark/print This is what we were told years ago. Perhaps Aikin can explain where he got his information and explain that he has learned differently. The ability to learn can be a plus, showing that he will listen to the voters, something his opponent wouldn’t do.
Akin has until Sept. 25 to seek a court order to withdraw his name from the race. He must then pay for a reprinting of ballots.
Ain't gona happen. Akin is the candidate. Handle it folks. And I was a $trong Steelman supporter but she is obviated from running by Missouri Statutes...
Perhaps now some here will understand why "...Missouri elected a dead guy to the Senate."
Akin dropping out is the only hope of taking this seat, someone needs to up the offer.
I’m glad I have he support for voting 3rd party in the presidential election.
She needs to back out of MO politics.
She needs to back out of MO politics.
Akin should have been offered an Ambassadorship. Ethiopia comes to mind...
I heard him on Hannity last night. Despite being an idiot, he seems like a thoroughly decent man. The people of Missouri may vote for him anyway, especially if Romney takse Missouri in a sweep.
What pissed me off is the establishment of MO and nationally suggesting names to replace him, and not even including the two people who were on the primary ballot just two short weeks ago. The establishment clearly wanted the chance to appoint their own nominee, as they have been doing for years, without the input of the people.
To that extent, I’m glad Akin decided to stick it to them. Should he end up winning, he’ll be persona not grata in the senate, but he’ll be a solid conservative, owing allegiance to no one.
He won the primary thanks to Dems crossing over in a open primary state .
He is the idiot Huck ‘s choice !
Claire spent millions on him and Dems voted for him.
A third party option could beat this clown plus it would it would inoculate
The GOP in
The state .
He is not leaving .
He is a delusional crackpot and his wife and son are his campaign team.
This is a greedy power hungry family lookin to make big bucks on the senate .
Just what we need, another RINO like Sarah Palin attacking true conservative Todd Akin. /s
We have to support Todd Akin at all costs.
More of the bloom falls from her rose the more she meddles.
Please see #4 and 6 above
Most states have “Sore-Loser” laws or simultaneous registration dates. I think about 5 do not. S. Palin should have known this. Greta should have asked or stated this. Letting it ride misled thousands...
Oh, is that why they were left off the list? I thought that only applied to a third party or independent run. I didn’t know that other primary candidates could not be appointed either if Akin had stepped aside.
It was so typical that the GOP would go to its list of retreads that I went through the roof. Talent was ok but he lost the last election. What’s needed is somebody new and young and thoroughly conservative.
But in any case, if Akin remains on the ballot, I hope he wins. I would love to see liberal (and republican) faces should he be successful.
Excellent point. No debt, no control. Hmmm...
The Akin situation reminds me of two other politicians: one in Pennsylvania who switched parties because he was more important than the voters, then lost, and one in New Jersey who should not have been able to run according to state law but, wonder of wonders, ran and won.
If New Jersey can ignore their own law, then so can Missouri. We no longer seem to be a nation of laws. Of course, then it all depends on who runs the state of Missouri.
