Are you sure this really happened? I don’t see how it’s possible in NYC. Mayor Bloomberg has designated it a “gun free” zone.

Male fashion designer of women’s accessories. Apparently the press is satisfied that he is “white” without needing to delve deeper into his lifestyle or politics. The guy who was being evicted in Texas a couple of weeks ago wasn’t making a political statement either but the press went wide with his “right wing politics”.

A right-wing fashion designer. Yeah, I don’t think anyone who can fog a mirror is buying that.

Let me guess: none of the victims and no one in the area was armed and able to defend themselves or others.
Thank you Mayor Stalin

And the MSM will try to link this shooting to the Tea Party some how in 3...2...1...

Where is the MSM on this?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-shootings-chicago-violence-august-23-august-24-violence-gunfire-20120823,0,49779.story

“19 people shot in overnight shootings across Chicago”

Nineteen people were shot across the South and West sides from Thursday evening through early Friday morning — 13 of them wounded over a 30-minute period, authorities say.

The overnight shootings peaked between 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. That’s when eight people, many of them teens, were shot at 79th Street and Essex Avenue about 9:30 p.m.

Obviously the MSM is racist and doesn’t care about black people.

I understand that cops shot some bystanders - that’s where the extra injuries happened (???)

Yes, I also read that some of the "professional" NY cops shot several civilians in the crossfire.

I wonder what their civilian hit ratio was compared to the criminal.

...the gun came from a state that allows the sale of guns, aka "conservative, redneck" state.

This was a very interesting one.

The murderer was targeting a single individual. He waited for a former coworker to leave the office, came up to him and shot him in the head at point blank range.

He then put the weapon inside his suit jacket and calmly walked away, hoping that he could disappear into the rush hour crowd without getting apprehended (a couple of years ago a similar event happened at rush hour and the shooter was lost in the crowd).

But a couple of construction workers saw him and started to pursue him and the commotion had already brought police to the vicinity.

The construction workers pointed him out to the cops, the murderer pulled out his weapon and there was a short street battle.

The only dead were the murderer and his victim - and even if his victim had been armed, he would have had no chance.

None of the usual cliches apply to this situation.

According to FBI statistics, the police (all agencies included) are six times more likely to shoot an innocent bystander that a civilian using a firearm in a legitimate defensive role.

This statistic hasn't changed in years, and the FBI no longer updates it.

One would wonder why.

I also read that some of the "professional" NY cops shot several civilians in the crossfire.

It was during the morning rush on 34th Street near 5th Avenue - in other words there were probably between 10 and 15 thousand people running around well within range of a service Glock.

He was on the run, was already firing, he had his pick of potential hostages and the police needed to put him down quickly.

There are very few people alive on earth who could have avoided inflicting collateral injuries in that situation.

I don’t think terrorism was blamed when a moslem, shouting “allah akbar” shot up the observation deck back in the late 1990s.

We haven’t heard how the bystanders were hurt — half of them probably tripped and skinned their elbows, and will sue everyone.

What utter garbage.

You know that old nut cops love to drag out when they DON'T protect someone? That they have NO obligation to protect ANYONE?

Likewise, they have NO authority to shoot when they could endanger innocent bystanders. Not to mention that their guns have SIGHTS. And they supposedly have TRAINING. That goes with the BADGE that lets THEM have guns while OTHER people DON'T.

These cops screwed the pooch so bad, THEY should be personally responsible for millions in damages. As it is, NYC will have to pay.

Your value system is ass-backwards.

Go wipe the boot polish off your tongue.

You can make all the personal comments you like, but there are facts you can't wish away.

The first is that the police can't just allow an armed murderer who is firing shots at them to continue uninterrupted. While I realize that you despise police officers with a pure and righteous hatred, they still have a personal right to self-defense.

The second fact is that the laws of physics make it difficult for 99.999% of human beings in the described situation to use a firearm in that situation and have 100% accuracy.

You appear not to realize that over a million people make their way through midtown Manhattan at that hour.

Considering that Bloomberg admitted that some of the injured could have been accidently shot by police, he needs to be reminded that gun control should start with the NYPD.
