I recently got a "Vietnam Veteran" license plate. Mostly got it to piss off liberals that still hate the VN war and any that fought in it.

Now, I wonder if that plate makes me a target for police and DHS?

I think that the attorney was implying that the Obama government is doing this for some nefarious reason, which it may, or may not be as far as I know.

One step closer to being able to deny the returning vets the right to RKBA if they are deemed to be suffering from clinical depression.

Put a little Confederate-flag sticker next to it and you sure as hell will be.

I think you’re right. I think there is plenty of abuse of the PTSD diagnosis by slackers which makes those who really are dealing with it doubly afflicted. First by PTSD and second by the stigma.

Many soldiers cope remarkably well, but others are truly traumatized. Someone who has not experience the horrors of war has no idea what these guys have been through.

Think about how traumatic it is to experience the death of a close friend. Now add to that personally witnessing the death, or losing multiple friends all at the same time. Add to that being far from home in a strange place where people are trying to kill you.

PTSD (usually) isn’t a permanent condition. The same way that being depressed due to the loss of a close family member isn’t permanent. If the government is using this to classify vets as “crazy” then shame on them.

God bless our troops and our vets!

Doctors can “diagnose” almost anyone with clinical depression.

Are you sad because your dog died? You’re clinically depressed. Are you sad because you lost your job? You’re clinically depressed. Are you sad because you’re arguing with a family member? You’re clinically depressed. Are you irritated with the neighbor because his dog poops on your lawn? You’re clinically depressed.

I’m pretty sure our vets (”depressed” or not) are smart enough to keep and bear arms regardless of what some shrink says. I don’t think they are going to get walked over by some liberal government shrink who is afraid of guns.

Interesting theory you have there. Take it from someone who has walked down that long harrowing road and has lived with the tragic consequences every day for better than 42 years now. (Clinical) depression is only one factor of PTSD symptoms. Some of us (former combat veterans) have learned to recognize the symptoms and learned ways to cope with the effects.

The government is infested with the 1960-1970s anti-American hippies (think William Ayers, John Kerry,Jane Fond, et al) who persecuted American veterans. These people are now incharge of the government and are continuing their persecutions.

Veterans know their rights. Veterans know how to fight. Veterans will fight for their rights. This is a big problem for the tyranical statists.

For those new to Medicare, Obamacare gives you “Free” Annual Wellness Exam. The administration at your current med clinic will be hounding you to participate.

Be very careful. Keep in mind that you can refuse the “wellness visit”.

The visit is nothing more than a nurse asking you many personal, intrusive questions and documenting all in a government database.

Many of the questions have to do with your state of mind.

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT EXPANDS MEDICARE COVERAGE
FOR PREVENTION AND WELLNESS

The Affordable Care Act[1] (ACA) adds coverage for a new “Wellness Visit” and eliminates cost-sharing for almost all of the preventive services covered by Medicare, effective January 1, 2011. This Alert discusses both provisions.

Wellness Visit

Starting next year, Medicare will cover a new annual wellness visit and will provide payment for the creation of a personalized prevention plan. The wellness visit will include a health risk assessment to:

Establish or update the individual’s medical and family history;

Create a list of current providers and suppliers involved in providing medical care, including a list of prescriptions;

Take measurements of height, weight, body mass index, blood pressure and other routine measurements; and

Detect cognitive impairments.....
