Obviously the Platform Committee completely disagrees with him. I would think that they speak for the bulk of the party.
What tone is he talking about?
If we don’t offer amnesty and chain migration to 15-20 million illegals, we will surely lose the Latino vote.
What in God's name is wrong with this man. Did he really say this? Did he have a stroke? Are his kids being held by Obama thugs for ransom?
Our citizenship doesn't matter and our votes are canceled out.

I’m okay with “territories” of the U.S. signing up men to serve in exchange for outright citizenship. My A-Gunner in the Crops was from Micronesia. He wasn’t a U.S. citizen but one tough SOB and I am glad I got to serve with him.
Now, out and out illegal stragglers across our border? No way. It won’t be long before too large a contingent is within our ranks and our military falters.
You know, I hate to come to this conclusion because I have actually liked some things about each Bush, the elder, the younger, and the governor, but in the end I find myself despising them more and more.

Tell us one nation on planet earth that would accept between 20 and 35 million U. S. Citizens pulling up roots, and occupying their nation in an illegal manner. The fact is, you can’t. It wouldn’t be tolerated by any nation. And in point of fact, it shouldn’t be tolerated.
You have each become an agent provocateur on behalf of foreign nationals, over the interests and healthy well being of your own nation. In my estimation, that makes you an enemy of the state.
You both have brought disgrace upon your family. You should be ashamed. Instead you find some sort of inner pride in it.
This is one fellow citizen that holds you both in contempt.
That shouldn’t surprise you, because that’s what you do with me and tens of millions of other U. S. Citizens, who recognize we are being occupied, and will not accept it or it’s supporters.

Now, if we would just figure out how to get both the Family Bush and Family Clinton off the political stage, this nation would be better.
Yeah I don’t get this at all. Democrats and GOP both have members that want an amnesty plan of some sort. The problem is neither side can say how it could possibly work. Right now illegals depress wages, keep unemployment artificially high and consume much more in costs than they contribute.
GOP believes that without illegals wages will rise and thus cost of goods. Of course they will, so what? You will also lower the cost government services, lower unemployment and thus raise revenues to the Federal government.
I think far too many politicians want to be politically correct and put the old brain on cruise control instead of rationally considering the issue. Illegal entry into a nation causes a wide range of big problems, both economically and socially. If you desire amnesty it requires a premise other than “We need the illegals to become legal so they can vote for us.”
Which is all the Democrats have ever had, and which now a few in the GOP would like.
Never forgot that the best and brightest of this nation rarely go into politics. As Republicans we should simply push Jeb Bush to the Democratic party where he would be more comfortable.
The same guy whose Hispanic wife tried to smuggle thousands of dollars of designer clothing into this country - he now wants amnesty for others who break the law? Another family member also was a law breaker. Something about prescription drugs.

I am 100% on board with cracking down on illegal immigrants when it's practical to do so, but the "immigration problem" this country faces isn't really an immigration problem at all. It's a welfare state problem, and focusing our efforts on illegal immigration sometimes gets in the way of dealing with the REAL PROBLEM here.
This country once thrived with plenty of "illegal immigrants" -- mainly because there really wasn't such a thing as legal immigrants. And the reason it wasn't a problem back then was that nobody -- neither U.S. citizens nor immigrants -- was given massive taxpayer-funded handouts from a nanny-state government. Does anyone here think it's a coincidence that "illegal immigration" suddenly became a problem after outright unconstitutional Federal programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid were introduced?

On the other hand, I realize you have a Mexican wife and so the pressure is more urgent on you to please her than our Constitution and the Rule of Law. After all, Mexico doesn't stop at the border - but it may stop at the middle of the bed... (see tagline)
When lawbreakers are given amnesty, the country ceases to exist as a law abiding society. How is it different from anarchy?
