An ex-Marine killed two coworkers and himself Friday morning after bursting through the glass windows of a closed New Jersey supermarket with an AK-47 and automatic handgun, officials said.

recently served, earned 2 medals, never deployed overseas hmmm.

There are no two year enlistments in the Marines. The minimum is 4 years.

He got an early discharge for some reason.

I am guessing he was discharged on a mental disability.

I don’t know the Global War terms

It is awarded for being on active duty during the period of the award. Basically for being in the military at the time. Much akin the the NDSM.
