Barack Obama is fond of insisting that he "has Israel's back." Maybe he should mention that to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
In remarks to journalists in London quoted by the Guardian, General Martin Dempsey warned that any Israeli attack on Iran would "clearly delay but probably not destroy Iran's nuclear programs." He also said economic sanctions on Iran were having an effect and needed more time to work, but that the good they were doing "could be undone if [Iran] was attacked prematurely."
And to underscore the firmness of his opposition to an Israeli strike, the Chairman added ...

WSJ in Scathing Editorial Justifies Israel's Mistrust of Obama http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/159547
The largest-circulation newspaper in the United States, the Wall Street Journal, has penned a scathing editorial against the Obama Administration's handling of the crisis with Iran, saying that its attitude is pushing the Jewish state to strike Iran on its own.
Following Gen. Martin Dempsey's statement that "I dont want to be complicit" if Israel chooses to attack Iran, the Journal writes acidly: We dont know what exactly Gen. Dempsey thinks American non-complicity might entail in the event of a strike. Should the Administration refuse to resupply Israel with jets and bombs, or condemn an Israeli strike at the U.N.? Nor do we know if the General was conducting freelance diplomacy or sending a signal from an Administration that feels the same way but doesnt want to say so during a political season."
The editorial sides with Israel, and says it's no wonder the Israelis are upset at the U.S. Administration. "Its one thing to hear from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that he wants to wipe you off the map: At least it has the ring of honesty. Its quite another to hear from President Obama that he has your back, even as his Administration tries to sell to the public a make-believe world in which Irans nuclear intentions are potentially peaceful, sanctions are working and diplomacy hasnt failed after three and half years."
"The irony for the Administration is that its head-in-the-sand performance is why many Israeli decision-makers believe they had better strike sooner than later. Not only is there waning confidence that Mr. Obama is prepared to take military action on his own, but theres also a fear that a re-elected President Obama will take a much harsher line on an Israeli attack than he would before the first Tuesday in November ".
The Obama Administration should be making an effort to show Israel that it takes the Iranian threat seriously, the newspaper opines. Instead, it is doing the opposite. "Since coming to office, Obama Administration policy toward Israel has alternated between animus and incompetence. We dont know what motivated Gen. Dempseys outburst, but a President who really had Israels back would publicly contradict it." ..... Video
my pet rock don’t trust Odungo
Only an idiot would trust a Moslem.
So Israel is looking out for their lives and interests..
"This is going to get out of hand, It's going to get out of hand and we will be lucky to live through it"
I keep hearing an echo around here that there is no difference between Obama and Romney. I guess the Israelis disagree.
Israel has no reason to trust anyone in this US administration especially the bowing lieing Muslim Usurper _Resident.
Israel should do everything it needs to do to protect itself and the American Citizen needs to do what it needs to do to prepare to protect itself for what is to come.
Bibi appears to be creating a near crisis situation now as to overshadow the Demonrat convention. He most likely will strike on the night of the US election when Obama and the media will be necessarily distracted by election events. This way, Bibi can avoid the unpredictable influence of an attack on the election results and paralyze action by Obama.
You have to admire Bibi's diplomacy: Bitch-slapping Obozo all over the Oval Office for 10 minutes and Obozo didn't even wake up once. Too bad Bibi who graduated from MIT AND Harvard -- isnt a natural born citizen and cant run here. Oh wait.
"...that I don't want to be complicit if they choose to do it."
We don't know what exactly Gen. Dempsey thinks American non-complicity might entail in the event of a strike. Should the Administration refuse to resupply Israel with jets and bombs, or condemn an Israeli strike at the U.N.? Nor do we know if the General was conducting freelance diplomacy or sending a signal from an Administration that feels the same way but doesn't want to say so during a political season. Whatever the case, the remarks were counterproductive and oddly timed, with this week's report by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran's nuclear programs haven't been slowed in the least by U.S. or international sanctions. In fact, they are accelerating.
Iran has now installed 2,140 centrifuges at its underground Fordo facility near the city of Qom. Its stockpile of uranium enriched to 20%or 87% of the enrichment needed to reach bomb-grade levelshas grown from effectively zero to some 200 kilograms in a year. Only 50 more kilograms of 20% uranium are needed to produce a bomb, and that's saying nothing of Iran's additional large stockpiles of reactor-grade uranium that can also be enriched to higher levels of purity."
I pay for it, I can repost a small excerpt. (Unless I'm misinformed/ any violation would be unintentional)
There is a difference. Mitt Romney is a mediocre RINO. Barack Hussein Obama is a mendacious crypto-Marxist and possible Islamic mole. Give me mediocre RINO any time. It’s sad that there is no superb, inspiring figure at the head of the GOP, unequivocally conservative and an eloquent proponent of all that is good and right. But I’ll take him, and use the negative inspiration of the alternative to fire my engine.
I’m with Israel. I don’t trust Obama either.
That is one devastating graphic that says it all. Thanks for posting that.
I am getting tired of the echos around here.............
I am very strongly of the belief that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, they will NOT just be used against Israel. How long until a nuclear device is set off in a US port, because of Iran's close relations with Venezuela, North Korea, and terrorists around the world? Iran has been the #1 supplier of IEDs during both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. They supply advanced weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah. It's bad enough that North Korea and Pakistan have nukes, but once Iran gets them, the world will be a far more dangerous place then it is now. And Israel's existence is threatened by Iranian nukes. If they stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, the world will be safer, though for a short time, just like in 1981, there will be all sorts of posturing and gnashing of teeth.
Well said, Mark. It seems to me that people choose to remember and place great emphasis on the first part (foreign aid to Israel) and forget the latter.
What I really don't get is why they so strongly support a supposed "Palestine". Would these people also enjoy selecting the precise method of their own destruction?
(Sunday, September 2nd, 2012) Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has decided to address the UN General Assembly next month in New York. He will take off for New York after Yom Kippur (on Thursday, 27 September) and leave New York early Sunday morning, 30 September.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said, In Tehran today, the representatives of 120 countries heard a blood libel against the State of Israel and were silent. This silence must stop. Therefore, I will go to the UN General Assembly and, in a clear voice, tell the nations of the world the truth about Irans terrorist regime, which constitutes the greatest threat to world peace.

Obama is Jimmy Carter 2.0. Same Foreign policy: Obsequious to Americans enemies, hard on the USA’s friends.
