Black Pastors Meet in Virginia to Discuss Support for Obama
Christian Post ^ | September 4, 2012 | Michael Gryboski

A group of black pastors in Virginia held a meeting to discuss how to encourage their congregations to vote for President Barack Obama.

Around two dozen clergy from various churches in the area met for two hours on Saturday in Chesapeake, discussing possible ideas for motivating support for Obama among their congregations. "We are concerned that many of our congregants are developing an aversion to supporting the president at the polls," read the invite email, which was sent out last month.

The major concern among the clergy was that Obama's support for same-sex marriage would prompt many African Americans to refuse to vote for Obama come November. Since President Obama announced that he had changed his position on same-sex marriage from opposition to support, many black pastors have stated their opposition to voting for Obama in the 2012 presidential election.

Just discuss what Obama believes in.

Like the option to kill the congregation's unborn members, even if they survive the first attempt. Or paying people to do nothing, which keeps them caught in a cycle of disenfranchisement and dependency on a benevolent benefactor. Or what about how Obama tries to make people dislike one another because some have more money? (As I recall, the bible gives two enthusiastic thumbs up to envy.) And there's the ever popular support of gay marriage, which the rich white liberals demanded and got. The bible gives that one a hearty endorsement, too, so no problems there.

Black pastors should have no problem encouraging their congregations to vote for Obama! He's the recipe for a crime-ridden, aborted, disheartened, frustrated, unemployed utopian black community!

Come on, pastors - get past the “black” and look what this a-hole is doing to the country - and to you!

Those who don't want to except that Obama has a Black voter problem have to have the courage to face truth and stop worrying about “jinxing” something. When was the last time Black ministers had to meet to decide how to sell a Democrat?

I find this bewildering.

If the pastors cannot come up with reasons to get their congregations to vote for Obama, why do they feel the need to try to convince them in the first place?

It just makes no sense (not to mention that it’s illegal).

Isaiah 5:20 -- "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil...."

its impossible for a born-again child of God to either be a democrat or to vote for someone who promotes evil like obama does.

0bama is there. He is there twice....See the chairs?

And yes, that was physically threatening.

Then again, 0bama, Ayres and Farrakhan walked in to vote in 2008 at the same time. You can’t find those pix/vids anymore.

Sounds like a “bar” joke. obozo, ayers and ferrekhan walk into a bar. They look at each other and say “who plays the race card for free drinks today?”

Or something like that...

What is there to discuss? If the Democrats leave God out of their platform, what good then is a Pastor when you deny the Word of God? Does that mean that they will put obama first, over God?

Thou shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3

Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more. Judges 10:13

"Blood is thicker than water."

Quite apart from Obama's support for same-sex "marriage," they should be offended by his war on freedom of religion. Just because it is directed at the Catholic Church now doesn't mean it won't impact Protestants later.

yeah, it must be tough for them to decide skin color versus soul. After all, their skin color links them to this horrible president. But their endorsements of his pro-abortion stance, his death panels under Obamacare, his hidden muslim allegiance, and his support of communism (which is anti-God), eternally damns their souls. Tough choice (sarcasm).

Maybe they should start thinking about their ETERNAL futures instead of their immediate circumstances? And the same goes for the souls in their congregations. God has little patience with those who steer His sheep in wrong directions!

Yep...so several hundred ministers meet and tell their members not to vote for Obama. And...Mitt gains several hundred votes while their members vote for Obama anyways. Its a nice gesture but will have little impact on the general.
