Real Conservatives Can't Vote Romney/Ryan
Me

Posted on 09/05/2012 2:47:19 AM PDT by MacMattico

I love Free Republic. I enjoy posting and reading other peoples insights and ideas. But I'm troubled and confused by the fact that while we all post and read daily the horrible things that Barack Obama is doing to our great nation, we are encouraged to "sit this one out" or vote third party. I understand Mr. Robinson owns this site and agree with his views on probably most every subject. I appreciate the stand he has taken and how he has always been true to his beliefs. He has provided an outlet that is invaluable to the Conservative community.

We've been through one day of the Democratic convention and I'm terrified. Mitt Romney wasn't even my fifth choice, but, my God, what an Obama with no fear of running in another election will do with four more years is unfathomable. And he doesn't need Congress, the man rules by Executive Fiat. I don't want to live under Socialism, I don't want to have my church forced to act against its conscience, I don't want my guns taken away and my (limited) wealth redistributed. I was shocked when God was taken out of the Dems platform. They don't even try to hide their disdain for a higher power, just blatantly remove God from their entire belief system. Basically show their hand that they want Jerusalem taken away from Israel. I can't take it anymore! I hear how eloquent Michelle Obama's speech was and I want to be sick. All lies! My family contains many military members, mostly Marines, they are sickened by their CIC. We were brought up to respect the Office of the President, but I'm finding it harder and harder to do every day. My sister is out of work after 30 years at the same company, and she is in a deep depression. My elderly mother is in a nursing home and is still finding it hard to find a primary care doctor and Obamacare hasn't even fully kicked in!

I live in NY and could vote for Mickey Mouse and it would make no difference. But I just can't sit around and hope others will do what I won't and vote for Romney/Ryan. So, yes, I will admit to compromising some of my conservative principles in voting Romney/Ryan because I don't think we will survive as a nation with four more years of Obama. Ryan helps make that decision a little easier. And with all Romney's flip-flops, I still think he will help this country in ways Obama the in-over-his- head President never could. The stakes in this election are just to damn high.

To Mr. Robinson, I mean no disrespect. I see people supporting the Romney/Ryan ticket on here although I know you said not to. This is just my opinion. I'm a Mom and worry about my children's future like never before. I read the articles posted here and don't understand how we can think not voting GOP will help. I hope I'm not kicked off the board, but I can't take Obama anymore.

Nope, just trying to get the attention of people who believe we can't be Conservative and vote R&R and understand why I should through either negative action (voting third party) or inaction (sitting this one out) help Obama win. I am voting for Romney/Ryan. Did you read what I wrote?

Don't agonize over it. The choice is simple. We need to vote out the party that is determined to turn America into a godless, communist state that will turn most of us into peasants.

Once Obama and his ilk are defeated, we can work on finding more perfect candidates in future elections.

Sitting out this election = a vote for obama. Romney may not be our ideal candidate but I do believe that he loves his country. This is an election that we cannot afford to lose.

I say go ahead and vote your conscious. I don’t think your vote is going to matter.

Why the vanity? You are just repeating what is said by members on this board 100 times a day. Some of us aren’t so passive with our opinions of those who are going to sit at home because of the rotten choice of candidates who ran in the primary. Lady, you are just preaching to the choir. You aren’t special in your situation or opinion.

Most of us love this board and are very grateful for it’s existence and the hard work that goes into it by Jim Rob, but I think he gets it. We have no choice but Romney. We have nothing to apologize for or to justify. It is what it is.

R&R 2012!

So you favor a third party? You’re right. Romney will continue the decline of America and will further trash our constitution but, not nearly as much as the Marxist Kenyan we now have. Voting against Obama will be the most fun I’ll have this year and for most of us, voting for the GOP ticket will be the most effective way to do that. For conservatives in solidly red or blue states, a third party vote isn’t going to hurt our chances of getting rid of Obama.
