Real Conservatives Can't Vote Romney/Ryan
Me

Posted on 09/05/2012 2:47:19 AM PDT by MacMattico

I love Free Republic. I enjoy posting and reading other peoples insights and ideas. But I'm troubled and confused by the fact that while we all post and read daily the horrible things that Barack Obama is doing to our great nation, we are encouraged to "sit this one out" or vote third party. I understand Mr. Robinson owns this site and agree with his views on probably most every subject. I appreciate the stand he has taken and how he has always been true to his beliefs. He has provided an outlet that is invaluable to the Conservative community.

We've been through one day of the Democratic convention and I'm terrified. Mitt Romney wasn't even my fifth choice, but, my God, what an Obama with no fear of running in another election will do with four more years is unfathomable. And he doesn't need Congress, the man rules by Executive Fiat. I don't want to live under Socialism, I don't want to have my church forced to act against its conscience, I don't want my guns taken away and my (limited) wealth redistributed. I was shocked when God was taken out of the Dems platform. They don't even try to hide their disdain for a higher power, just blatantly remove God from their entire belief system. Basically show their hand that they want Jerusalem taken away from Israel. I can't take it anymore! I hear how eloquent Michelle Obama's speech was and I want to be sick. All lies! My family contains many military members, mostly Marines, they are sickened by their CIC. We were brought up to respect the Office of the President, but I'm finding it harder and harder to do every day. My sister is out of work after 30 years at the same company, and she is in a deep depression. My elderly mother is in a nursing home and is still finding it hard to find a primary care doctor and Obamacare hasn't even fully kicked in!

I live in NY and could vote for Mickey Mouse and it would make no difference. But I just can't sit around and hope others will do what I won't and vote for Romney/Ryan. So, yes, I will admit to compromising some of my conservative principles in voting Romney/Ryan because I don't think we will survive as a nation with four more years of Obama. Ryan helps make that decision a little easier. And with all Romney's flip-flops, I still think he will help this country in ways Obama the in-over-his- head President never could. The stakes in this election are just to damn high.

I agree with you, 100%. The barbarians are not at the gate, they have breached the gate. This election pose a stark choice between the life and death of the USA. It aint beanbag this time. The freak show in Charlotte should suffice as the call to arms, general quarters, for all here and across America who love this country. We cannot fail - we will not fail - on defeating the left and terminating the presidency of Obama.

HUH?

Can you help me out here, I'm confooozed!

Almost skipped reading your comments based upon caption.

Can I suggest you ask mods to "correct it," and add something like "Real Conservatives can not, NOT vote for Romney/Ryan?"

Thanks, Mod.

I somehow missed this thread. If FReepers can unite against Communism we can win this battle for America.

Jim made a tough decision, but it is the only way we can send the zero down in flames. Like he said, we can deal with Romney later.

I, along with many other long-time FReepers will be holding our nose and pulling the lever for the RINO Romney.

Thanks again.......panax

Ditto.
I'm all-in for RYAN.

MacMattico --> your thread's title is wrongly worded. It sounds like you don't want anyone to vote for the romney/Ryan ticket.

wilson, mazda --> mac is saying that as much as she dislike Romney, she dislike Obama more and that's the reason she would vote Romney/Ryan

No, they say they're voting Virgil Goode so we can lose VA or Gary Johnson or sitting it out. The attention grabbing title was to confront this idea head on. I consider myself a Conservative but have been called a RINO for my support of ABO from the start.

It also tells me who only reads titles and not entire posts before posting! If a Mod wants to change the title, feel free.

“...a third party vote isn’t going to hurt our chances of getting rid of Obama.”

Why risk anything? When your liberty and the very lifeblood of our country as it was founded, is at stake. When your children and grandchildren’s future is at stake, what in the hell is the point to vote third party? To make some kind of stupid statement that no one cares about? A wasted vote doesn’t do a single thing, not one damn thing, to make a difference in saving this nation.

Americans should send a message load and clear with a popular vote that is completely overwhelming. Obama and his minions, along with their socialist, communist or marxist theology needs to be completely and utterly destroyed. Romney and Ryan aren’t perfect, but by God, they’re all we have as an alternative. I don’t mean to be offensive, but a third party vote, no matter where you are, is idiocy.

If one chooses to join the battle to fight with his fellow patriots, why choose to fire only blanks?

Romney’s greatest liability is abortion. With it, his other Liberal tendencies are exposed. But it’s his failure to stand up for Life that drives the opposition.

I think it’s important we respect those Conservatives that choose not to vote for Romney. Ultimately, however, I believe Life & Liberty have better odds with the 3 Republican Houses.

Have you seen the documentary ‘2016’: Obama’s America? Go to one of your local movie theaters that is showing it. I guarantee you will be totally convinced to vote for Romney/Ryan after seeing it. No way in hell can this country survive 4 more years of Obama.

Yep - when I was 22 I voted for Ross Perot because I thought Bush was not doing a good job. I was also pretty stoned at the time.
As a result of the Perot third party pusch... America got Slick willy for 8 friggin years.

I’m sorry, You were saying something about conservatism?

I guarantee you I will never vote for R/R. There is nothing you or anyone can say, any movie or anything else that will ever convince me.

In the Bible, when God’s people were unfaithful, He rarely punished them directly. He would raise up a destroyer, until they came back to Him. If they were faithful, He would restore them.

So it is with us today. God in on His throne and in full control. Put this first in your political thinking. Look to Him for the Way out.

God will decide who wins this election - not you or me.

Pray for Romney, that’s the only game in town right now.
