Chicago hip-hop war of words turns violent (murder rate up 38%)

Chicago’s hip-hop community is in a war of words that has escalated into violence, with the shooting death of a teenage rapper.

Tuesday was another night, another homicide in a year in which hundreds of Chicagoans have been gunned down; the murder rate for the year’s first half is up an alarming 38 percent over last year. This time the victim was Joseph Coleman (18-year-old rapper Lil Jojo). The bicycle-riding teen was slain by a drive-by shooter in his South Side Englewood neighborhood.

His death starkly punctuated a gang-related war of words and music between Jojo and rapper Lil Reese, associated with the biggest new star in Chicago hip-hop, Chief Keef. Jojo recently released a song on-line, “3hunna K” that mocked Reese, Keef and their “300 squad,” which is associated with a street gang.

Keef took to his Twitter account Wednesday to respond to Jojo’s death: “It’s sad cus … Jojo wanted to be just like us #LMAO” (Internet slang for “laughing my ass off"). Chicago police are reportedly investigating a possible connection between the comments and Jojo’s death.

On Wednesday, Keef went after another Chicago hip-hop artist, Lupe Fiasco, on Twitter. He called Fiasco a “hoe” among other epithets and vowed that when “I see him (I’ll) smack him.”

To contextualize, Chief Keef is 17 years old and lives in his grandmother's house.

I'm not kidding.

Obama needs to head back to Chicago permanently in January and community-organize it back to the peaceful, and prosperous pocket of Kumbaya and milk and honey he left in 2008.

The DNC party should be canceled during this time of need.

This happened last night? What were these boys doing out in the streets? Why weren’t they watching the convention?

They were on their way to the 7-11 to get Skittles and Arizona Tea... oh, and to rob the store and probably kill the clerk. Street cred and all that...

All Democrat rule throughout eons of time have created more and more and more social programs that have destroyed the very fabric of the Chicago inner city society. Gangs have replaced fathers.

Disciplining Students Is Racist? "Among all the bizarre ideas that emanate from the callow and sciolistic mind of the modern American liberal, the statistical disparity argument is one of the most fallacious. It has permeated and destroyed so many aspects of society. It is now being offered by Obama’s education secretary, Arne Duncan [former Chicago Public Schools chief], in the area of disciplining school students.".......

...."At the heart of the discrepancy may well be a reluctance on the part of educators to report campus crime fully. A survey by the National Association of School Resource Officers found that 89 percent of school police believe crime is already underreported. "It's the scarlet letter in education today," says Mr. Trump. "Administrators have said to me privately that they would rather be academically failing than be a dangerous school."... - School-safety rankings - or just black marks?

Fine. No problem, carry on as you were.

There's nothing that can save this generation of black youth from themselves. They are embracing social Darwinism on a grand scale. Let them thin the herd as much as they like. Just make sure you and your neighbors have enough guns and ammo to keep them away from your neighborhood.

Since Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson doen't care about this problem, my "give a damn" is completely busted.

Policies proposed to boost boys [and men] of color ....[CA] "State leaders should revise school testing and funding, extend health care coverage for those aging out of foster care, and make it harder for schools to suspend and expel - all to improve the odds of success for boys and young men of color in California.

Those are among dozens of recommendations from a state legislative committee that spent the past year and a half looking into why the state's minority youth are less healthy, have lower test scores and are more likely to be incarcerated than other young people.

.....Assembly Select Committee on the Status of Boys and Men of Color, led by Assemblyman Sandré Swanson, D-Alameda, will introduce more than 50 pages of policy and legislative recommendations...

......[Swanson] plans to ask Assembly Speaker John Pérez to appoint a new chair so the committee can continue its work next year, and see whether lawmakers should create a state commission on the status of boys and men of color.

Here is a sampling of recommendations from the state Assembly's Select Committee on the Status of Boys and Men of Color:....."
