Brussels, Belgium, wants everyone to be nice. And if not, it's going to cost you. "Any form of insult is from now on [is] punishable, whether it be racist, homophobic or otherwise," Brussels Mayor Freddy Thielemans' spokesperson quoted him as saying, according to the Telegraph. Fines will range between 75 and 250 euros for using offensive language or sexually harassing someone in public, officials said. Mayor Thielemans said the new fines encourage officers to take action over offensive public behavior that previously went ignored because it was never prosecuted. Thielemans said police officers "had little incentive to take any action over such incidents."

The European (and increasingly Liberal American) approach to so-called “hate speech” will destroy free speech. You do not have a right not to be offended by someone else’s speech. Our First Amendment jurisprudence is the best — controversial speech should only be outlawed if it is a clear and present danger, etc.
Of course to them, “Offensive Language” is “God”, “Jesus”, “Christian”.
I believe a 10 megaton airburst would be very suitable for Brussels.
I just hope they’re not offended by the flash.

Once you divide ‘speech’ into more than one category, it is very easy to destroy the half that is considered ‘bad’.
Divide it yet again and the process gets easier.............

Only a country born out of an imposed politically-compromised union of peoples that hate each other, for the purpose of serving as a rest-stop for nations going to invade each other, could come up with something so stupid.
I find the language of this law to be very offensive.
These Euro-weenie countries set themselves up everytime: “Belgium in the corner pocket.”
So..will these fines include the abusive treatment by Muslim men...forcing women to wear hijab/chadoor...making them walk behind men....verbally abusing and raping white women?
