There should be a “U7” unemployment index (if there isn’t already one) which also include those recently moved into SS Disability. Now THAT would be an accurate measure of unemployment. As long as the Obama administration can shovel large amount of people from the unemployment line to SS Disability, the unemployment rate will never tell the true picture.

Info on that at CNN, of all places!:

The biggest change this report was from young people dropping out.

Wow
thanks for the info

That probably means the “ young “ people are sponging off their parents AND the taxpayer
which really makes the future of our country look pretty bleak

It is true the jobs creatd are in the service industry but there is NOTHING wrong with working there and then moving up.

I also read that the number they use for “ dropping out” is ONLY employment age

The unemployment is much much worse than is published

Imagine being in your young twenties and this, Obama’s job market and welfare, is all you’ve ever seen!

I can imagine what that has done to their hopes and spirit.

We need a FR contest to predict next month's unemployment report just ahead of the election -- how far below 8% the data manipulators will drive it.

My guess is that no matter what, the rate will be reported at 7.98%.

I wish I knew how to ‘run the numbers’ on this 89 million people out of work and how that equates to the billions of dollars our economy needs right now. From the taxes these individuals would pay, to the companies they work for, to the government fee’s and permits corperations would be paying....

Thanks tsowellfan.

Partisan Media Shills ping — I was in a public place, and the owner had the TV blaring the “news”. The party-line talking-points media shill op-ed’ed his way through a song and dance about how the new jobs report undermined the perception of Zero’s overall performance in office, since he’s really just stoked the economy and created zillions of great jobs.

What a bunch of lying spin-doctoring a-holes.
