Rossi Gives Third-Party Test Results from Hot Cat [Cold Fusion]

Short article from Sterling D. Allan from PESN.com:
Last night, Andrea Rossi read and explained the third party tests that were done in July on his hot cat technology. The results evince outputs that approach nuclear in their power density and peak output levels.
I'm presently attending the conference, so I'm not able to compose a report on this excellent E-Cat conference. That will come later. But for now, I thought you would like to see the video I shot last night.
Here's the video I took of last night's presentation that Andrea Rossi gave at the E-Cat conference in Zurich that is presently under way in its second of two days.

I was also at the conference in Zurich, and met Andrea Rossi and his control systems expert, Fluvio Fabiani. The conference was mind-bending. A few tidbits:
- There were over 300 people in attendance, mostly entrepreneurs, and mostly from Europe, although Australia had a surprisingly strong contingent.
- The "cold fusion" phenomenon is real (in my humble but now very informed opinion). It's now a matter of engineering and entrepreneurship to see how far it goes, but the amount of energy that comes out of a few grams of material means it can only be nuclear.
- A satisfied military customer has been running a 1-megawatt E-Cat for months, with continuous production of heat energy and no failures. The 1-megawatt E-Cat has been safety certified for industrial applications.
- A similar commercial installation is about to go into operation, and will serve as a reference site.
- Rossi no longer believes that the fundamental mechanism is transmutation of nickel into copper. Although small amounts of copper have been found, Rossi now believes that that may be a side-effect of the gamma rays that are produced in the reaction. After Rossi mentioned that the process generates 150 kEV radiation, an audience member (presumably a physicist) mentioned that this was evidence of hydrogen fusion into helium. Rossi didn't confirm the hypothesis, except to say that "it made sense".
- Much of the conference was dedicated to mechanisms for creating electricity from E-Cat heat. The original E-Cat only produces hot water, which has limited use. Electricity generation from E-Cat is the Holy Grail. One speaker presented a survey of potential electrical generation methods compatible with E-Cat, and another presented a new circuit design that may convert heat directly into electricity, with high efficiency.
- The keynote talk, by Rossi, described the recent development of the Hot Cat, which produces energy at a much higher temperature, around 1000 degrees C, which makes electrical conversion much more promising.
European and Australian entrepreneurs -- and some big companies -- are taking the E-Cat cold fusion energy system very seriously. Americans, not so much. There were only half a dozen Americans at the conference, and three of them were me, the net journalist who wrote the article above, and a consultant who now lives in France by way of Australia. A fourth may have been Rossi himself, who lives in Miami.
To quote the late Davy Jones, "I'm a Believer."

It’s 1 am here in Switzerland now, so I won’t be posting again for a while, but I’ll respond to comments and/or questions tomorrow.

It’s just odd to see a cold fusion article that hasn’t been posted by Kevmo.

Andrea Rossi read and explained the third party tests that were done in July Cool! Who was the third party who conducted the tests, and where did they post their findings?
Please let us know when either the military customer openly issues a statement about their findings, or we have a commercial customer openly identifying themselves and presenting their findings.

A new circuit is NOT needed to convert heat into electricity.
The stirling engine has been around for a long time, and would be perfectly suited for this application. (if it was real...)

Fission creates 100MEV of energy per event. Per the BE/A curve fusion of light atoms will give more energy than fission reactions so I wonder what we are seeing at 150KEV. Or perhaps this is a fraction of the energy produced as the energy from recoil nuclei provides a fraction of the fission energy. Are we on the cusp of a break through?

I am a believer in LENR, but I don’t know if Rossi is the man.
When I see the technology start to become commercialized, I’ll be a believer. Until then, I consider it interesting.

I suggest people go to pesn.com before they get out their check books to invest in Rossi.
It is nice to AZ Liberty's report, I don't him from Adam but Sterling Allan of PESN believes anything literally and is quite the kook.

Stirling engine requires mechanical conversion from heat, heat directly to electricity is the brass ring.

I’m starting to wonder about my water heater... 50 gallon, 5 year warranty, got installed about 1998.
But I’ve been living alone for almost all of that, so it doesn’t get much of stress, I mean it’s not pumping alot of hot water doing tons of showers, etc.
still...

I have two of 'em. One is 150 gallon... lol I turn mine off until they're needed. It'll saves a bunch on electric usage. It's as easy as going to your breaker box and flipping the circuit breaker.
Some folks have their hot water heaters on a timer but not me, I can have hot in 30 minutes or less when I need it, and it will stay hot of a couple of days. The dishwasher and washing machine all have their own heating elements so they take care of their own needs.
I'm talking electric hot water heaters here. There was a time when electric was more expensive than propane but not anymore. Of Course, NG is the way to go as far as costs except for solar or an outside wood-fired boiler. I don't have NG. If I did, a vehicle conversion and filling station would be on my to do list and 1040 for this tax year. :)

Rossi left the Republican Party? (Oh, not that Rossi. Not that kind of party.)
(Special NYer joke: Or was he hoping for a “fusion party”*?)
(*NY allows candidates to run on several party lines, allowing 3rd parties to stay alive by supporting major-party candidates whose beliefs are close enough to their own; if enough people vote for Romney on the Conservative Party line, for instance, the conservatives maintain ballot access, and Romney gets Republican AND conservative votes.)
