Thanks very much, Kathy!
*HUGS*
And thanks so much for tonight's Old Fashioned Car thread! Those old cars bring back lots of memories to me - a simpler time and, I think, a better time.
I have many memories of being driven around the suburbs of West Philadelphia by my Uncle Joe, returned from WWII in Europe, in his Hudson Convertible. At three years old - I knew the routes he took well enough to give him directions home. He had fought in the Rhine Campaign in 1944 - two Purple Hearts. He also contracted trench foot in the bitter cold of the 1944-45 Winter - an affliction that would cause him pain until his death six years ago.
Don't mean to wander - my heart is full of things past this evening. My glass is lifted to my Uncle Joe, to the Fallen of 9-11, and to all who have stood up in defense of our Freedom!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Today has been a hard day...especially when you read the news of all the incredibly stupid things the o has done on this day of mourning. *sigh*

You Are Charming
You have a reassuring nature. Your friends find you to be both soothing and comforting.
You deflect drama. You can get everyone laughing and smiling again.
You are both intensely alive and totally easygoing. You know how to have fun!
People gravitate toward you. You are usually the happiest person in the room.
You know...this is pretty accurate. I AM charming :-).
God bless our troops. His mercy and compassion on them and their families, and his justice on our enemies.

You Are Practical |
You are a very energetic and even hyper person. You stay alert and focused. If you're in a bad mood, the easiest way to get out of it is to distract yourself with something else.
You are both quick-witted and quick-tempered. You can be very reactive. You are confident and brutally honest about your opinions. You have no problem being frank. |

Indeed I do - I can find it on my computer but can't localize it. Luckily, I put it up on Photobucket, and here it is:
My mother, Marie Annette Sullivan Mitchell
and her Aunt, Ella Nora Gavin Cliggett
very early 1930's.
No finer ladies than these ever trod the earth.

Somewhere among thousands of family photos we have a picture I took on 13Sept2001 of our three boys, Daniel, David and John, standing in our front yard waiting for the school bus, returning to school after the shutdown caused by 9/11. Each one of them is wearing an American Flag shirt, probably from Old Navy, but where ever it came from, no matter. They didn't know then what the significance was, but they know now!
