The general is doing quite a disservice to this country.

This general is a POS and a threat to this country. He should hand in his stars.

Does anyone on this forum know this jerk?

The media and obama followers don’t even think that someday it will be them getting the phone call.

This proves beyond a doubt that obama is not destroying this country on his own. Lots of people in high places are helping him.

Think of how the Muslim world interprets this.

Our response was that a private American is beyond the government, or administrations control, our hands are tied because we are a free nation, first amendment, etc.

Now the Muslims see a Christian ‘Inman’ in personal contact with one of the most powerful men in the world in their view, the man who leads the military, in their view.

Now it looks like the man is closely tied to our government and power structure, and that he IS SUBJECT to or even participating in government, with his actions.

That’s no excuse. When the Joint Chiefs Chairman calls you and “asks” you to do/not do something that is intimidation by an order of magnitude. This jackass should have the Bill of Rights tattooed on his forehead.

We’ve had a lot of duds at the JCS level—General Shalikashvalli during the Clinton years comes immediately to mind—but Dempsey may be the worst. The man is absolutely feckless; first, he cautions vets and military retirees from exercising their First Amendment rights; now he calls that nut-job pastor to express concern about the anti-Muslim “film.”

Dempsey is clearly nothing more than a political hack. When Axelrod and others determined that the Middle East crisis must be blamed on Mitt Romney and that so-called film, Martin Dempsey couldn’t wait to do his part for Team Obama. So, he phones a private citizen to express his concerns about that individual exercising his own right to free speech. Does General Dempsey have a problem with the Constitution?

I have no regard for Pastor Jones. Watching his past antics, it’s clear that he’s in it for the publicity and whatever added contributions it will mean for his church. But whatever his motive, Jones has a right to express his thoughts, no matter what the Muslim world may think.

It’s now abundantly clear why Dempsey got the JCS job. He’s a useful idiot that will do Zero’s bidding, with little thought for what it means, in terms of our individual liberties. Maybe the “Darlington scenario” (outlined in a recent military journal) isn’t so far-fetched after all.

Memo to Gen Dempsey: your soldiers face greater danger from the policies of your commander-in-chief than they ever will from a publicity-hungry pastor and his film-making buddies.

Obama is reason for the debacle in the Middle East. It’s sad to see a four-star general, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, so willing to cover for him.

No word of whether he called the Cairo or Libyan Embassies, the dead or wounded servicemen’s families, regional commanders, his boss, etc. But we KNOW FOR Damned sure he phoned a wacko Pastor in Florida who was not involved.

I retired last year from the Army Reserve. I started out with a Vietnam tour. I would love to call Gen. Dempsey a FASCIST to his face & see if he does anything about it.

“Perfumed princes” one critic called our current generation of flag & general officers.

Gee... you suppose his commander in chief will call HIM & say, “General, you can’t intimidate civilians like that”.

“Not bloody likely, mate.”

“Muslim protestors have reportedly cited the video as one reason for this week’s attacks...”

There’s that, maybe. There’s also the fact that they are animals who don’t belong in a civilized world and should be wiped from the face of the earth.

Perhaps the General should also call various Marines, Airmen, Navy Seals, and Army soldiers and tell them to stop killing Taliban and other Islamic terrorists, because no doubt about it, killing the Al Qaeda leaders really annoys their extremist allies around the world.

I'm waiting to hear the news about General Dempsey making those calls.

Once he's done with them he can call executives at the Gap, Macys, Nordstrom, and other stores and suggest they replace the women's clothing they sell with veils and burqas. That should also help to mollify the Islamic extremists.

Martin Dempsey’s Letter Calling for Review of Military Education and Training Curriculum

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/04/25/us/Review-of-Military-Education-Training-Curriculum.html

Gen. Dempsey told Britain’s left wing Manchester Guardian “I don’t want to be complicit if [Israel] choose[s] to do it.”

Complicit? That word means the general does not want the U.S. to be party to a crime.

Does Gen. Dempsey speak for the Obama administration? Does the Obama administration really think that stopping the Iranian mullahs from developing a nuclear weapon would be a criminal act?

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey called out a group of special operations veterans for wading into politics with a video claiming President Barack Obama has taken too much credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Ryan said military leaders had lied to Congress in their support for their proposed budgets that included sweeping cuts to planned defense spending.

“We don’t think the generals are giving us their true advice. We don’t think the generals believe that their budget is really the right budget,” Ryan said in March. “What we get from the Pentagon is a budget-driven strategy not a strategy-driven budget.”

Dempsey took issue with a member of Congress essentially calling him and his fellow generals liars. Ryan eventually had to apologize for his statements saying he “misspoke.”

The rockets posed no threat to the safety of Dempsey or his staff, who were asleep in their quarters at the time of the incident in the early hours of the morning, officers said.
A spokesman for NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) described the rocket hitting the general’s plane as simply a lucky shot.

Dempsey had been visiting Kabul to meet commanders of the NATO-led force and Afghan top brass amid a surge in assaults by Afghan security personnel on their international colleagues.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey indicated that “international permission,” rather than Congressional approval, provided a ‘legal basis’ for military action by the United States.

The military’s top uniformed leader decided on his own to phone an extremist Florida pastor linked to an inflammatory anti-Islamic online video, the Pentagon said Thursday – no one else asked him to do so.

BS!

Thank you for all of your years of service and thank you for never forgetting the meaning of the oath you took.

There is something really wrong with the promotions process when someone who doesn't get it can get to DUmpsey's level.

>>Most unusual spelling of principled I have seen.

In today’s America and even in many of our churches, “principled” is considered to be “extremist”. This is a big part of our nation’s problem.

Ever since my earliest days in the Navy, long ago, I wondered what it would be like to tell a flag officer to Go F*** Yourself! If I were to ever get a call like this, it would be quite short.

Making white flags out of tee shirts when none are available... required Freshman class...

Somewhere, in my readings of Plato or Aristotle, the philosopher cited the decline of personal appearance as an indicator of a society in its downfall.

Some of them have (R) by their name.
