Egypt's general prosecutor has issued arrest warrants for controversial Gainesville pastor Terry Jones and seven Egyptian Coptic Christians and referred them to trial on charges linked to an anti-Islam film that has sparked riots across the Muslim world.

The prosecutor's office says the seven men and one woman, all of whom are believed to be outside of Egypt, are charged with harming national unity, insulting and publicly attacking Islam and spreading false information. The office says they could face the death penalty.

” HA! Let’s see if Obama sells out his own countrymen to another court system. “

Obama might wait until after the election.

Funny how Jones was called, and therefore elevated in the international media, so now they come after him and some Copts. The Obama Administration put a giant bulls eye on the Christians of Egypt, besides these Americans.

So, who’s up for making the trip to Florida to physically protect Terry Jones ?

Anyone?

With Interpol having free reign in this country thanks to Outstanding Leader’s EO, I am sure these great men will be arrested by Interpol soon.

I am sure they will be arrested soon.

Absolutely incredible. We're giving Egypt millions of tax dollars and in return they try to overturn our constitution and nullify our freedom of speech. Now these eight people are at risk of arrest if they leave America. If Egyptian agents try to arrest these people inside America, those agents are going to be arrested themselves and charged with crimes under US law.

Obama's foreign policy is a disaster. He's turned Egypt into Iran in less than two years. How long will it be before Egypt starts working on chemical and nuclear weapons? Jimmy Carter couldn't have screwed up any worse than this.

Madness.

When leadership is needed, we get capitulation. My gut tells me this is playing out exactly the way Dear Reader’s handlers scripted it.

How on earth can this administration support the Muslim Brotherhood and other extremists against American citizens?

Spiraling down into darkness.

Holy men and women, pray for us.

"Disaster", sez you.

Well I think Jones could easily find 100,000 bodyguards to surround is house 24/7 on rotating shifts with 1,000 guards posted on each shift. This could get very interesting if Egypt actually tries to arrest him. Interpol, however, will not get involved in trying to enforce Egyptian arrest warrants.

Ya know, I've never entertained the idea of burning a Quran, insulting Islam or Mohammad. Maybe it's time...

Terry Jones is more than capable of protecting himself. He’s been interviewed several times and makes no bones about being armed everywhere he goes.

He carries a S&W .44 magnum, as I recall.

A real President would issue a public statement telling Egypt to “go to hell.”

I agree in principle, though maybe not in those exact words. I would be clear to point out that they have no jurisdiction over the speech of ANY of our citizens and that any action whatsoever to enforce a warrant or punishment in any way against our citizens would be viewed as an act of war. I would add that ALL forms of US aid are suspended until such a time where those warrants have been irreversibly revoked. Failure to revoke within 60 days would result in severence of diplomatic relations and travel restrictions between our countries.

It is past time to deal forcefully and decisively with this BS.

The text of the US extradition treaty with Egypt, originally signed with the Ottoman Sultan in the 1870’s:

http://internationalextraditionblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/egypt.pdf

The treaty forbids extradition for crimes of “a political nature” (Article III), and only when the alleged act would be a crime on the soil of the nation where the crime actually occurred (Article I).

Under the old United States, extradition for “blasphemy” of Mohammed - doggyshiesse be upon him - would be strictly forbidden. In Hussein 0bama’s American caliphate, who knows?

“They could face the death penalty”.....Well it’s good to see that rational people run Egypt now. Hey, Hillary! Thanks for screwing this up. Incompetent, arrogant fool.
