HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman says she shot and killed a man Monday because she was afraid for her life, but an eyewitness is telling a much different story.
The deadly encounter began as a simple fender bender accident on FM 1960 near Perry Road. What happened next depends on who you ask.
There were two vehicles, two drivers; both on their way to work Monday morning. But now only one only is alive to tell her story.

This will go to a grand jury, as it should.

Agreed. The stories are just too different in substance to not allow a GJ hear all sides. Maybe more witnesses will come forward.

Refresh my memory. Where does FM1960 go? Deos it cut through Ft. Bend Co?

"It ricocheted off the car came towards me and whizzed right by me," said the witness. He says he was 15 feet from where the man in his early 20s was shot to death. According to Harris County homicide investigators, a minor accident spilled over into the gas station parking lot. The 23-year-old woman behind the wheel of a silver sedan told them the young man walked up to her car and was yelling and beating on her window. He grabbed for her door and she grabbed her gun and fired. If she was shooting wild near a gas station and nearly hitting a third party figure, she was dangerous to all involved.

Press covered up the basic who what when where why.
WHICH car had been hit?
Was there a hit and run involved?
Was this an effort to exchange information?
Had one driver refused to yield right of way instead hitting the gas and the horn at the other driver?

A bullet trajectory could easily be changed going through a car window

If she HAD deliberately hit his vehicle refusing to yield, then I’d say she was using her car as a weapon which itself is deadly force.

FM1960 runs between HWY 290 and past I-45 east. West of 290 it becomes Hwy 6 which does run down to Fort Bend County.

Even if her story is the absolute truth, I don’t think it would justify deadly force. Someone banging on your window and yelling at you after an accident is most likely trying to get you to roll the window down or exit the vehicle to talk about the accident and exchange information, maybe to just vent and yell at you, but not very likely trying to cause you physical harm.

No report about the race of the players involved, but the “Leticia Quinones is her attorney.” caught my eye.
If she’s one of Holder’s people, she’ll get off.
Just me being me.

I disagree. Someone banging on you're window and yelling at you is initiating trouble. I don't believe that in itself calls for deadly force but I'm not taking a position on this without more facts. I thought earlier reports said he broke the window. If the guy was pounding on her driver window in a threatening manner, what she should have done was put it in reverse, turned the wheel hard right and floored it.

No report about the race of the players involved, but the Leticia Quinones is her attorney. caught my eye. I don't know if this is the correct Leticia Quinones (how many of them can there be?), but if so at least the attorney appears to be not guilty of any crime.

You may think banging on my window is OK.
Please don’t try it, because then I’ll have to replace my window because it has a bullet hole in it.

That’s what I thought. I used to live in Quail Valley years ago and was editor of the Ft. Bend Star newspaper. I remember another horrendous accident on FM1960 on the first day of school back in 1981.
A nurse (I think) passed a stopped school bus on her wway to work in the Houston Med Center and struck a 6 year old child crossing the road while holding her big sister’s hand. She dragged that child nearly a mile before she stopped.
Due to my front page editorial and the fuss that I and others made, Ft. Bend School District made major changes in their bus policy so that children did not have to cross that highway. I still have a copy of that issue somewhere.
