I am not shocked that the press is and always has been left leaning. I am shocked that they have thrown objectivity to the wind and are doing everything in their power to protect Obama.
Atleast during the '04 election, they covered the Swift Boat Veterans, etc... It seems like they "learned their lesson" and are just ignoring anything they think will hurt Obama.
I knew the attacks on Fox at the time were dangerous, but only now do we see how dangerous. If he was successful, Obama would have been able to control the message as he pushed for the fairness doctrine.
Without Fox, Drudge and talk radio, I get the feeling we would be watching a narrative where the economy would be in full on recovery, unemployment is dropping and Obama will have created more jobs than all other presidents combined.
If you think about it for a moment, we witnessed and attempt to destroy free press in America, and the left cheered for it. All I can say is Gob Bless Rupert Murdoch, Matt Drudge and Rush Limbaugh. They are the only thing standing between us and Pravda. It scares me to think that Obama may "learn his lesson" and not give up when he attacks Fox in his next term.
It'll be like the seventies again only much worse.
20 years ago media choice was comparitively poor. Now its rich and stands to get considerably richer. To survive any media outfit MUST choose one flavor from many and then rigorously tend to the audience that wants that flavor — you serve vanilla just a couple times to the Nascar dad who wants Rocky Road, well he’ll buy his beer from the guy who carries THAT company’s commercials and who DOES serve the Rocky Road he loves.
You know what tuition is? Thats where some of your money goes away, but you get just a little smarter. So now that CNN’s peak audience has gone in five years from 5 million to under 400 thousand.
If the vanilla-serving dummy wants to keep doing that, then its ok and his gradual death will lay bare just HOW badly he believes in his suicidal cause.
You forgot to blame Bush too.
Where do you buy your drugs?
I get my drugs at the VA. ;^)
Methinks tomcat didn't mean page views (FR gets about a 1/10th of Drudge per day), but our activism.
Some examples would be assisting in the impeachment of Billy Jeff, saving a presidential election, and getting Dan "what's the frequency Kenneth," Rather fired.
Then again, I could be wrong, and tomkat was talking about page views...

I fear that a second Obama term will see a shutdown of conservative talk radio with some new “fairness doctrine”, the closing of conservative Internet blogs for some trumped up “security” issue and an intensified war to shut down Fox News. The liberal media is perfectly willing to become Obama’s ministry of propaganda. Obama in a second term will follow the example of Caesar Chavez and make himself a virtual dictator by first shutting down all opposition in the media.
“It seems like they “learned their lesson” and are just ignoring anything they think will hurt Obama.”
Because if they don’t support the chosen one 100% then everyone else will call them racist. Of course, they are but...

A certain portion of those page views are due to Drudge's insidious auto refresh feature, which is used to misrepresent his site traffic to potential advertisers. The auto refresh used to be once every 5 minutes, it now appears to be down to once every 3 minutes.
auto refresh..so thats what it is.I thought I had a problem and was unknowingly or accidentally resending the page request.
Its annoying
thanks

The conservative voice has already been marginalized to limited areas such as radio and DRUDGE .
What other voices do we have ?
Jounalism schools , lame stream media , and the nightly “talking heads” are all liberal in the highly edited , produced , and directed presentation of daily news programming. Objective observation of these media indicate falling viewship and readership. They get all their ‘talking points directly from the WH or ‘media matters’ ( a surrogate clone).
All the national news that we get come in ‘pre-packaged’ sound bites of 30 - 60 seconds , geared to a fifth grader.
Where are the Conservative journalists , other than radio and singular news websites ?
Where are the Conservative “talking heads” ?
Where are the Conservative moderators for the televised debates ?
The Conservative voice has already been marginalized ~ although not non-existant.
Haven’t we already demonstrated our support for an available Conservative voice and media ? I beleive the market is there .
The Conservative voice and viewpoint will not be heard until there are more Conservative outlets. We must remain uncompromising resolved to bringing something more than pablum to national news.
The “mainstream” press is not left-leaning, they are the Left.
They are not “biased” toward the DNC, they are the DNC.
When you realize that, you won’t be shocked that they “throw objectivity to the wind”. You will be shocked that after decades the GOP still finds itself dependent upon its enemy’s press organs to get its message out, and then complains when it gets squelched, muffled, and distorted again and again.
They are not the press as we imagine. They are DNC.
Ultimately, the frightful part is we are at a point where only a few Conservative voices are left. Obama and Co have launched an assault and that if he wins (not that he will win but if he was to win), I think he will try and finish the job.
I've been a FReeper for several years, but to pretend that FR has even 10% of the effect {or clout} that Drudge has is delusional.
There is no doubt that FR has thousands of visitors each day and each of us is always 100% convinced that we are correct and dedicated to whatever our position happens to be.
We have very little impact on America as a whole, only on political junkies.
We can't even convince each other whether FR or Drudge has more "clout", and we do this every day.
Case closed.
That statement is categorically untrue.
I've already been wrong a couple times this year, and it's only mid-September !
And additionally, though I don't intend arguing about it, news items often appear here hours (if not day/s) before Drudge puts 'em up.
And if the actual truth could ever be known, I suspect this place has been his unattributed source many more than a few times.

Yes, we should protest outside msm’s doors, call their sponsors and threaten to stop watching, reading, whatever. You know, all the liberal stuff like what they did to Rush.
When conservatives make up their minds to fight back they do a bang-up job like the millions who went to Obamacare demonstrations. We just need to get together on this stuff and we can wipe them out.
