The controversial “Piss Christ” artwork Sen. Alfonse D’Amato once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” is coming to New York, and security is being heavily ramped- up at the gallery that will show the piece. Andres Serrano’s work — a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine” — first ignited controversy in 1989 when D’Amato complained to the US Senate that it was an “outrage,” an “indignity” and a “piece of trash” that had been funded by taxpayers. Serrano had won a $15,000 prize for his work, backed in part by the National Endowment for the Arts But the piece — which will be on display as part of a retrospective of the New York artist’s work at Edward Tyler Nahem gallery beginning Thursday — is still causing controversy over two decades later.

The timing of this is perfect to show the staggering hypocrisy of the left on “respecting another’s religion”.
Lib-er-als are ecstatic that it’s on display again. Some religions are definitely more equal in their eyes,,,especially since adherents of one of those religions wouldn’t hesitate to cave their skull in with a baseball bat if their beliefs are mocked.

1. Get about 20 Korans. Chicken wire. Loose wire. Flour. Paint. Wirecutters and needle nose pliers. Rope.
2. Tear all the pages out of the Korans (video running), tear the pages into strips, put the strips into a basin full of thin flour and water paste.
3. Using the chicken wire is a framework, take the paste covered strips using the paper mache’ principle and create a pinata of a giant Muhammad head with a turban.
4, Paint the pinata, fill it with cooked bacon, and hang it from a tree limb.
5. Take four hot female volunteers wearing string bikinis and muslim veils and head scarves, arm each with a stick, and have about a dozen volunteer dogs waiting underneath the pinata for what will fall out.
5. Make sure to get the money shots as they’re bending over and whacking at Mohammed’s head while yelling Allah Akbar, Allah Akbar...and the dogs are jumping up and down and tearing up the pieces and eating the bacon...happy dogs
6. Conduct an interview with a person acting like a serious artist, saying how this is his mode of self expression, while the women in string bikinis with hijabs hanging around on him like he’s Hugh Hefner.
7. After the video goes viral, cash in and start the next project: a heavy metal band called Psychopathic Pedophile, and all the band members are bearded Muhammeds with turbans... ;^)

I would cheer if someone burned the place down. Then we could have an honest discussion about how those insensitive to the feelings of Christians caused the uproar.

No doubt christians will burn fedgov buildings, take over US embassies around the world, and murder ambassadors in cold blood, in retaliation for being irritated by the piss christ. As a Christian I feel this calls for an assault on the secular progressive liberals embassy. Let’s all storm the NY Times building!

I think that’s true, and that’s what I meant: they want to see Christians go out and riot or at least complain so that they can say, “see? It’s the same for Christians when they’re attacked.”. And then they’ll go on to try to pass this law.
It’s very important for Christians not to let themselves be fooled or used this way.
The world has always hated and mocked Christ, and we’re confident enough in the Lord so we can just ignore them - with the only exception being when this mockery is sponsored by a government, using our money (in the form of a grant for a show, etc.).
I hope the “artist” has just as much security as Ambassodor Stevens and the entire embassy staff had.
