Iran's Revolutionary Guard Says Expects Israel To Launch War

DUBAI (Reuters) - Israel will eventually go beyond threats and will attack Iran, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards was quoted as saying on Saturday.

As speculation mounts that Israel could launch air strikes on Iran before U.S. elections in November, Mohammad Ali Jafari told a news conference that the Jewish state would be destroyed if it took such a step.

"Their threats only prove that their enmity with Islam and the revolution is serious, and eventually this enmity will lead to physical conflict," Jafari said when asked about Israeli threats to strike Iran's nuclear facilities, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported.

"We are making all efforts to increase our defensive capabilities so that if there is an attack ... we could defend ourselves and other countries that need our help with high defensive capabilities."

Jafari's comments, made at an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military exhibition, come as Israeli leaders have increased their rhetoric against Iran.

"A war will occur, but it's not clear where or when it will be," Jafari was quoted as saying on Saturday. "Israel seeks war with us, but it's not clear when the war will occur."

Israel, which bombed an Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981 and launched a similar strike against Syria in 2007, has threatened to do the same in Iran if diplomatic efforts fail to stop the nuclear work it believes is aimed at getting weapons capability.

Iran, which says its nuclear work is for peaceful means, has said it could strike U.S. military bases in the region as well as Israel if attacked.

Oh yes, Iran has been such a clarion of peace.
War is inevitable and Israel cannot wait to turn
the other cheek or it will be destroyed from the
outset. I only pray they do a good job, we will
receive retaliation from Iran weather we help them
or not so it would be to our advantage to decimate
the Iranian military as much as possible from the
beginning.

It’s just too bad it couldn’t be a joint US,Israel,Russia,
and Chinese attack. We all face the threat of Islam.

The way I see it is that there is no way the Israeli’s would wait until the large military force that is in the gulf for ‘war games’ leaves.

That just seems stupid.

I expected a strike when the moon was dark, but the presence of that large force trumps the darkness.

If the Israeli’s are half as smart as I think they are they will find a way to destroy both Iran and Oblameo’s re-election chances at the same time. :-)

The Iranians are operating from a (current) position of strength;

1) if Israel attacks Iran directly, Iranian forces in Syria and Iran’s proxies in Lebanon and Syria (and Hamas, Fatah, Egypt) will attack Israel from within and without.

2) if Israel knocks out the Iranian occupiers in Syria first, the nearly inevitable loss of pilots could, at best, be expected to yield no political or diplomatic benefit.

3) if Israel destroys Hizbullah’s bunkers and so on in Lebanon, it will bring a temporary lull to the fighting in Syria, and with Iranian thugs around, Assad will probably be able to force a return to his dictatorship, by threat of force as an alternative to heading to the frontiers with Israel.

4) if Israel knocks out Assad, IOW, kills his sorry ass, there would be no more Syrian continuity, and nowhere for central authority to look. Syria would then turn into a factional morass like Lebanon, with Iran playing the role Syria played in Lebanon. Russia would be pushed to the margins unless they koutou to the new overlords — likely enough, since Russia and Turkey have been enemies for centuries. The Alawites in Turkey are a substantial fraction of the entire population. Turkey just moved anti-aircraft and other serious stuff toward its border with Syria, and has seen Kurdish takeover of the NE areas of Syria. The likelihood of Erdogan’s fall increases by the day, and he’s known for some time (since last year) that none of his new “allies” have the slightest interest in acting like allies, or in his continued political success. He’s hemmed in on all sides, mostly due to his own mismanagement and stupidity and clinging to his medieval ideology.

If Israel wants to take action, it needs to start with #4, within weeks move on to #3, then within months, as Syria’s factions turn completely against Iranian forces, move on to #2.

Obama will be forced to reveal his true self.

If folks don't know now they never will. The owe's supporters don't care anyway. Democrats have always hated Jews they just hid it well. And American Jews will continue to vote for the dims in droves. For all the grate ideas the Jewish people have brought the world and their evident intellect, it is astonishing how easily they fall for the lies of the people that would murder them ought right.
