Politico is reporting that Microsoft accidentally delved into the world of partisan politics over the weekend after tweeting out a message insulting conservative author and syndicated columnist Ann Coulter.
In response to liberal economist Robert Reichs tweet that he would be visiting his granddaughter and sitting on a panel with Coulter over the weekend, the tech giants official Twitter feed reportedly responded: @RBReich your granddaughters level of discourse and policy > those of Ann Coulter.
Here is a purported image of the tweet: (see link)
The tweet was deleted immediately, according to Politico, and was accidentally written by one of the individuals who manages the companys Twitter account.
[The] tweet obviously is not an official statement by the company, Microsoft stated in a press release.

The tweeter is right. Coulter cannot be trusted.
Why do thes things happen to the nicest peopLE?
I’m sure there is more than one liberal idiot on Microsoft’s payroll, given that is headquartered in Seattle, a town run by liberal idiots. No need to take it out on Microsoft, however.
I fully expect conservatives to hijack Microsoft’s Facebook page and turn every post into a debate on the company’s positions....... Not.
When Reich sees Coulter next time he should kiss her a**. He won’t even have to bend over.
That’s great. I’d been having a tough time figuring out if I should get a Mac this time. Now Microsoft was kind enough to make my decision for me.
Well, Coulter is nothing but a Romneybot so...
It maybe was accidently sent, but it was NOT accidently written.
What’s the old saw about monkeys with typewriters? I guess it’s true. Oops, Microsoft accidentally wrote something cogent, lol.
Microsoft is NOT headquartered in Seattle and Seattle's municipal government has nothing whatsoever to do with Microsoft. What's more, I previously have not read of Seattle being referred to as a "town" in over 100 years.
I worked in MS Corp PR for 10 years, the poor sap who did this is probably going to be looking for a new job on Monday morning. They don’t come more liberal than this group does and they make covering the company’s ass into an artform. I was one of 3 conservative in a 90 person team. Really toughened me up.
Well choose the one you fell is best, not which is more liberal of the two. For my money I would bet Apple to be much more liberal. At least Gates is giving the better part of his fortune to charities (whether or not you like them ), what did Jobs do with his while alive?
I would have thought the person at least could have given Ann the benefit of the doubt and tweeted “> =” instead of the more stark and brutish “>”.
oh sure I believe that
oh sure I believe it was an accicent(wink)
Accidently? His/her fingers happened to type out those letters and then hit the right button to make it get sent out??
I believe it was an accident. There’s no way they would do something likwe that on purpose.
the pre plan and plan on the spot. to everything EVIL....
Accident my ass!
