Wrong about Romney, Right about Palin (Vanity)
Self

Posted on 09/27/2012 9:29:49 PM PDT by indianrightwinger

I owe everyone here an an apology for falsely believing and then promoting the idea that Romney had the ability to unify the country and create a grander GOP coalition. He did not. I am fully behind him (only GOP candidate on ballot), but can only see a narrow GOP win (if we all pull the lever). Having said that, I am also certain that this was never a moment for a polarizing figure (like Palin). To defeat Obama by a big margin, we needed an inspirational/charismatic conservative (Paul Ryan type). We did not have that choice. Oh well....lest vote and get Romney in by a squeaker!! Then, solve the larger electoral problem in the next cycle or two.

The fire seems to be gone, doesn’t it. Reminds me of Palin as election day got closer.

I’ll never vote for health of the mother abortion, homosexual Boy Scout leaders, Romneycare, or amnesty.

Plus, Romney and Ryan support the sodomization of the military:

"Now that it's done, we should not reverse it," Ryan told WPTV NewsChannel 5 during a visit to Miami.

I'm with you. Can't vote for Mittens. Can't do it.

Thanks for manning up and admitting that your earlier faith in Romney was misplaced, but I strongly disagree with you about whether Palin would have been a better choice at this juncture in our history.

I believe it was the perfect time for her to run. She was our Reagan, to their Carter, and would have beaten Obama in an unmitigated rout. She would have also gone on to do a better job as president, than we’ve seen anyone do in decades.

That said, the Kenyan truly must go. I still won’t pull the lever for Romney, but I won’t try to dissuade others from doing so.

My first Vote was for Nixon in 1972, the same guy that established the EPA two years earlier. Knowing that, I still would never have imagined doing anything that would help McGovern win that Election. The same applies today with Obama and Romney. I will not give Obama any chance by wavering from supporting the Republican Nominee.

I wanted Newt, I got Romney. Life's a bitch, but Obama’s a Commie Rat Bastard who hates the America I love. That's good enough for me.

I'm sure everyone here felt as you did about supporting Palin and the Old Guy in 2008. Doesn't matter, we lost and Palin decided to sit this one out.

That being said, my original Post was just a statement of the obvious. You do what you need to do and let the chips fall where they may.

Well, I guess you could always vote for a late term abortion proponent, GLBT Celebration Day creator, Dream Act by executive order candidate.

Or you could vote for a third party that isn’t on the ballots in most of the states.

I’m no big fan of Mitt...but The Won really needs to be retired.

Reagan was divorced, but his wife left *him*. He didn’t *abandon* Jane, and rightly or wrongly, Newt is seen as an SOB by a substantial number of women. Clinton is a Democrat. No Republican could have survived for a week doing what that predator did. Best, Bob

My reply was not meant as a criticism of Regan. I campaigned for him when he ran for Gov. and Pres. It was to show how times change. There was a time when a divorce, regardless of cause would disqualify a person from becoming president. When Regan ran it was not. And times have certainly changed sense then.

You think Sarah is polarizing???

Really?

We’ve never seen a more polarizing figure in political history than Obama. I know he started out looking like a uniter, but all he united was the ignorant wing of American politics who were sick of Bush.

With Palin, conservative reformation of the country had a chance. With Romney, conservatism is on it’s last gasp.

And you know what else? Conservatism is our only chance to save America.

And how does Obama differ on the issues you raised? Indeed, Obama is worst on most the issues which concern you.

If you are truly conservative, you will take responsibility for your actions in re-electing the devil currently occupying the White House. Refraining from voting or voting for a third party candidate is effectively a vote for Obama who is far worse on the issues which concern you.

Will you accept responsibility for putting Obama in the White House for another four years? Will you refrain from complaining about further actions Obama may take in his second term? Are you comfortable in accepting Obama's likely appointments to the Supreme Court?

A mature conservative would take that action which would do the least harm to his or her principles.

That's nice. I pray you are not in a swing state.

You're what I liked to call a pompous Pontius Pilate voter. Afraid of being sullied, you've washed your hands of this election despite the stakes.

Your response in the face of Obama is to do nothing but lecture those standing with the only candidates between him and four more years.

Why don't you wait until the election is over before you comment on what kind of coalition Romney can pull together.

He is not the charismatic that Obama is and we should be thankful!

Obama is such an arrogant prat, I loathe his smarmy moralizing polarizing lecturing.

What is it that you would advise him to do???

Buy time on National TV in a good time slot.
30-60 min. talk to the people. Don't rely on the MSM to show you in a positive manner, they won't.

Mitt Romney is a good person and a wonderful example of a what a family leader should be. He doesn't have a lot of charisma but I prefer people who are thoughtful and make little noise. I measure them by the strength of their families. I see how most of our candidates were viewed and criticized during the primarily season and I'm grateful Mitt Romney hung in there. My candidate, Rick Perry, was beaten up by FReepers so badly that I spent every day in a state of depression. It was immigration, stupid! It was in-state tuition, idiot! With Mitt, it's the Boy Scouts and abortion, stupid! ....not to mention Mormon. Most of our candidates were imperfect by human standards. Thank God there is God. I beg Him to forgive us all , especially the judges among us, and stand with us during this horrific time in our country's history. We will never stop illegal immigration in this world. We can only stop our government from accomodating it. We will never stop abortion in this world. We can only stop government funding for it. We will never stop homosexuality in this world. We can only stop government promotion of it. The rest is up to us as individuals in our own personal lives.

Face it-Palin’s political career is over. That didn’t happen when she resigned, it happened when she was hired by the MSM (yes, FOX is MSM now). She will never again run for office.

So out of 57 posts on this thread, 6 have elected to vote the current president back in!

Forget about the BIGGER PICTURE of saving America from the socialist/communist in the oval office.
