Wrong about Romney, Right about Palin (Vanity)
Self

Posted on 09/27/2012 9:29:49 PM PDT by indianrightwinger

I owe everyone here an an apology for falsely believing and then promoting the idea that Romney had the ability to unify the country and create a grander GOP coalition. He did not. I am fully behind him (only GOP candidate on ballot), but can only see a narrow GOP win (if we all pull the lever). Having said that, I am also certain that this was never a moment for a polarizing figure (like Palin). To defeat Obama by a big margin, we needed an inspirational/charismatic conservative (Paul Ryan type). We did not have that choice. Oh well....lest vote and get Romney in by a squeaker!! Then, solve the larger electoral problem in the next cycle or two.

Actually Paul Ryan reminds me a little of Sarah Palin, but with smaller testicles.

I’m going to vote for Romney. Since Reagan’s been gone, I’ve never had a Republican nominee I was enthused about. Rick Perry.....he used to be a democrat and he supported the buffoon algore. Because Rick Perry once supported algore, when he was past 40 years old, I couldn’t help but think he was still wormy, or an opportunist trying to ride a Conservative wave.

As Governor, Romney was led by the liberal state legislative gubmint in Massachusetts. Because of this, Rush points out that Romney has a propensity to being led. So, if we elect a Tea Party led Congress, and Romney subjects himself to being led, again, he can go down as one of the best POTUS in History, as we ease out of this crisis.

One thing Paul Ryan isn’t is charismatic.

I understand where you’re coming from but there was a time when Democrats weren’t considered radical. Algore once made a little bit of populist sense. Rick Perry is not wormy. Rick Perry is a good man and his credentials solid. Texas is a great state in spite of people from New York and other states telling us how the state should ne run. But that’s beside the point. I think Sarah Palin made a huge mistake by not standing beside him. Doesn’t matter anymore. All that matters is that Mitt Romney be given the opportunity to demonstrae his skills and bring this country back from the brink. I believe he can do it. IMHO PS: we will never ever ever have a Ronald Reagan again. Never.

If Obama is reelected it is your responsibility for picking a Republican candidate that is unacceptable to conservatives.

I’m never going to vote to kill babies and hand Boy Scouts over to homosexual leaders.

You should have chosen better.

You're what I liked to call a pompous Pontius Pilate voter.

And, you want my vote?

Thanks. Maybe I can find a way to vote twice.

Obama voters want to kill babies, embrace homosexuality and vote twice, too.

Well, I guess you could always vote for a late term abortion proponent, GLBT Celebration Day creator, Dream Act by executive order candidate.

Has Mitt ever said he is against these things? Would it be true even if he had?

Once you vote Mitt’s values, they become the Republican Party values. That is a horrible loss for our children.

Mittens was not my choice, but, now that he's the nominee, I will support him enthusiastically. He isn't the optimal candidate, but there is no doubt he beats the guy you support.

Obama's work isn't done, yet donna wants to give him another four years! Unbelievable!

I understand your dilemma. I have held my nose and voted too many times. It is my conclusion that has resulted in giving us Obama. I have been attacked and called names because I will not vote for Romney. The claim that not voting for Romney is a vote for Obama is silly because I am not voting for Obama which would be a vote for Romney. If Obama wins it will not be because of me it will be because of the liberals who nominated Romney.

“Unifying” the country just isn’t important. Getting the right candidate to get 51%+ of the vote is what’s important. Unity is what the left dreams about. That’s what John Lennon’s far-left song Imagine is all about. It’s as unrealistic and wrong a goal as any of the left’s goals ever have been.

Human nature isn’t about unity, it’s about diverse groups of people battling each other for dominance. Every time we get unified, human nature will gradually divide us again and make us fight each other. It’s the hard-wired programming within our species that is designed to make us a stronger species over time. Politics is non-violent warfare. The goal is for the right side to defeat the wrong side.

Newt Gingrich was my pick in the primary and everything I’ve seen in the campaigns so far has only made me more confident that he had the best chance at winning this thing.

There are two candidates. You must choose.

To not make the choice and not vote is to make yourself irrelevant in the presidential election.

To vote for one of the pretenders is to pretend to vote and again, be irrelevant.

Unless of course you live in California or perhaps New York where Obama is certain to win and what you do or don’t do doesn’t matter anyway

I don’t see the point in insulting my deeply held beliefs.

However, it does reveal why you personally have no problem voting for Mitt.

I live in Washington State where Obama is certain to win (polling shows him up 16% or something). I won't be voting for Romney. Not that it matters. What DOES matter is that I usually give money to the RNC to help them win in competitive states. That instead is going to my local races where the Republicans may actually have a chance.
