Pro-Obamacare Movie, Escape Fire Release Next Week

I saw a trailer for this movie coming out next week. It is basically a propaganda movie for Obamacare. The first October surprise?

One of the most egregious claims in the trailer was: people are dying due to too many tests being done. I doubt they ever point out that the reason so many tests are ordered is the fear of lawsuits against the Doctors. Tort reform would have gone a long way toward lowering healthcare costs. But the trial lawyers donate too much money to the Dems for tort reform to have been included in Obamacare. So with Obamacare, a Doctor will have his income slashed but will still have to carry exorbitant malpractice insurance. Who will go into medicine? Who will go through so much training for not much financial reward?

It is being billed as ‘Healthcare's Inconvenient Truth’. I suspect they expect people to vote for Obama to keep his Obamacare around. The Left has so many high visibility people supporting them it is really an uphill battle for the hearts and minds of America.

The directors are listed as Matthew Heineman and Susan Froemke. Produced by Aisle C Productions , Our Time Projects and Roadside Attractions. I have never heard of most of the people connected with the film. Front and center in the film is Dr Donald Berwick with many comments in the trailer. He is the former head of Medicare and Medicaid (recess appointment, of course). Phillip Klein of the American Spectator called Berwick ‘Obama’s rationing man’. Berwick loves the British health care system and believes in rationing care. What a surprise! Those Death Panels are REAL!

"October Surprise"? By the time most people who are going to see it, see it (strapped helplessly into their seats on a transpacific flight), the election should be long past.

Parenthetically, over one-third of US physicians are above the age of 55. I hope that most 55+ doctors have saved enough over the years so that they can "go Galt" when they need to. And Obamacare does nothing whatsoever to increase the supply of the commodity that it increases the demand for.

There are other things that most individuals who are smart enough to get accepted to med school, and to graduate from med school can do besides clinical practice. It's surprising that a lawyer who hasn't maintained his law license and who's married to another lawyer who gave up her law license doesn't seem to realize that. I'm guessing that the waits in ERs today will seem like Heaven compared to what's going to happen when Obamacare is fully implemented. My general advice to people has been not to get sick, and to make an extra effort not to get sick if Obamacare is implemented.

There we go. Before taking the time to view the movie or rebut any point it makes it is useful to know who made it and who supports it. That one person alone tells me that it isn't likely that anything truthful will be presented. It is pointless to discuss issues with liars. A fuller vetting of everyone involved should really clarify how worthless this movie is without discussing any of its "facts."

Don't engage them on the "facts" or issues they bring up until you vet them. Who are they? What is their credibility? Who pays them and who has paid them? Unless they can prove that they are not inveterate liars, paid operatives and aren't nuttier than squirrel poop based on their past history there is no reason to discuss anything with them that they bring up. The press is the enemy and should be treated accordingly.

Actually Nationalized (FREE!) Health Care is great if you don’t ever need health care. But it’s that extra 10% in Federal taxes to pay for all that Nationalized ( not really FREE) Health Care that will get to you even if you stay well.
