General Motors Co. is recalling more than 40,000 cars sold in warm-weather states because a plastic part might crack and cause a fuel leak.
The company is recalling Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 sedans from the 2007 through 2009 model years and Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent SUVs and Saturn Ion sedans from the 2007 model year.

It leaks right pass the Union Label.
Since Obozo became te Imam of the board, Government Motors has moved much of their operation to China.
10 to 1 it is an issue with the increased levels of ethanol. I have had several customers with their racing fuel cell bladders coming apart at the seams because of the addition of the ethanol to the racing fuel.
Big money change as most are custom made to fit a particular space.
Bush's fault
Why only recall cars in warm weather states? Just because the car was sold in NY or somewhere else, that person might be living in FL or AZ now.
If you have clowns build a car you will end up with a very expensive clown car that only a few clowns want.
Boggles my mind that this car is supposedly the libtard’s answer to oil independence???
It further boggles my mind that more than 13% of the population would vote to reelect this destructive clown king???

They are trying to avoid making it a nationwide recall with a big press stink. My guess is that the hoses have aged faster in the South due to the heat, but the ones up North aren’t going to be terribly far behind. And those cars sold better up in Unionville than they did down here.
Ethanol in the fuel dummies.
Temperatures only aggravate the process, but you are correct in your point. Look at the bright side, if their car explodes before they get here to cast their second or third vote in Florida . . . . .
On the reality point of your question, since it is GM, I’m sure the regulators worked out a deal to mitigate the exposure of costs to repair.
“Singing By, By Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levy and it blew up.”
That’s what happens with American “engineers” who have never been exposed to “hands on” experience in their field.
Just use computer CAD and simulators to replace actual research, common sense and “hands on” experience.
Seems like all new cars and products are sold as “field tests” and when the problems arise, they are then found and fixed.
Hilarious. Thanks. I needed the laugh.
Ethanol bump. They will never, never learn.
Quit burning our food.
I saw a Chevy Dolt on the interstate the other day. I don’t think it will do more than 55 mph.
YUP!
“Those that boozes get the company (car) they choozes...”
An old song from the 60’s. Sung by the Chad Mitchell Trio.
It kinda goes like this: There was a pig laying in the gutter and a drunk came along and laid down beside her. Along came a high-flauting lady who sniffed, “You can tell those who boozes by the company they chooses.” And the pig got up and slowly walked away.
I remember driving the family 1967 Chevy station wagon on the beltway, Wash DC, and a sintered (sintering is a method used to create objects from powders) rocker arm disintegrated into bits of metal.
So my father bought one of those Datsun wagons (a 410?) with the Datsun Z engine. It had fuel injection with fabric fuel lines. The engine caught on fire.
Poor guy, he just couldn’t win.
GM - making the Yugo seem like sound investment since 2009...
