Will An Obama Victory Spark A Civil War In The US?
The Western Center for Journalism ^ | September 29, 2012 | Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D.

America is on the verge of fragmentation and civil conflict because its citizens have lost control of their government and lost faith in its political institutions.

Nineteenth century political satirist Ambrose Bierce once described Washington D.C. as a strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles and the conduct of public affairs for private advantage.

Indeed. Not much has changed one hundred years on.

The August 27, 2012 Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent (8%) of likely voters think that the US Congress is doing a good job.

Most Americans agree that the Democrat and Republican establishments are infested by individuals whose allegiance is not to their country, but to themselves and their political party. Their aim is to be unconstrained by the Constitution and the rule of law and unaccountable to the American people. Their conduct is driven by political expediency and winning elections for the sole purpose of obtaining power and profit.

The US has elections, but it no longer has representative government. The US has a free press, but one that is partisan and dishonest.

Beats living under the rule of a Kenyan Marxist pig.

I'm with you. Let's just get it over with, we're long past due for a revolution IMO.

Why not do it in October?

Excellent! I just sent email to family recommending going Galt through-out October up to election day in November. Minimal spending to get by, avoid paying taxes. Let's all do it!

Ghandi called for several general strikes by the working middle class Indians, the ones who made the telegraphs work kept the trains running. I thing the problem is who is this modern Ghandi figure, does he exist or has the fire of injustice not reached the necessary temperature to thrust him forward and will we recognize him when he materializes among all the anti-Ghandi’s seeking power!

I’d prolly just cross Fl off that list and add GA. Don’t count on LA either. Its going to be more like Texas, OK, AZ, MO, SC, Ala, Ga and TN.

I don’t agree with your underlying premise that we need a Ghandi figure to save us from ourselves.

We are Americans and conservatives so we should save ourselves on our own without the father figure or prophet to deliver us.

But we do have to find ways to communicate and act in concert.

Think about the fact of how little technology they had in India back when they were calling general strikes against the regime and were successful at it.

Look at how Twitter and Facebook caused problems for the dictatorships in the Middle East and North Africa.

We have the technology, we have the capacity, we have the intellect, we have the power, but we just don’t have the courage to see it through.

Someone seems to think so - news reports are rampant to the effect that every American governmental agency in existence has been stocking up on ammunition to the extent of literally millions of rounds.

Those rounds are not for revolution, but for 'food riots'.

There won't be a revolution, however as the value of the dollar plummets law enforcement will start to disappear, and anarchy will start to take place. Most groups taking up arms will be doing so simply for collective defense, although I'm sure there will be the bands of brigands about as well (many brigand groups, however, will cluster in the cities).

My better half and I were discussing this. It’s not inconceivable, but I think more likely if Obama loses. His supporters are generally lawless and prone to violence.

Yep, capital goes where capital is welcome. A lot of it has been patiently waiting to see if anyone here will defend its presence IMO. If 0bungtard wins that will be seen as a final answer. A lot will follow it that wasn’t planning on moving but won’t want to stay when the exodus begins in earnest.

“Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent (8%) of likely voters think that the US Congress is doing a good job.”

Then the 8 percent went back to finishing off the bottle of Jack Daniels.

Our only hope is secession. We need to form a new country from the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

If we had Warrior leaders, they would proactively secede. If enough governors worked together, we could peaceably remove the unconstitutional powers of the Feds. However, the populace of most states is divided in such a manner that it forestalls such action.

The most realistic scenario will be more messy. It will likely take a total collapse of the central government to compel the wimpy leaders of the States to act.

Even then the politicians will likely only react to unfolding events instead of leading.

One way or another the Federal government must be "reset" back to strict Constitutional limits. Otherwise we will suffer under a decaying socialist, all powerful, central dictatorship.

Of course not. We will just all go back to what has already proven to be so effective... Vote, write letters and call our “elected officials” sometimes called politicians but more like self-proclaimed little gods to tell them what we really want and need.

Or we could stage a massive demonstration one day and call it a Tea Party.

That has worked really well hasn’t it?

One has to wonder who is really stupid doesn’t one?

America is on the verge of fragmentation and civil conflict because its citizens have lost control of their government and lost faith in its political institutions.

And because the libtard parasite and prey mentality of force, altruism, collectivism, statism, and socialism is utterly incompatible with the mentality of producers of freedom and natural rights. There cannot ever be any long run agreement between the two.

I don’t agree with your underlying premise that we need a Ghandi figure to save us from ourselves.

It was your idea to go Gandhi. Besides, conservatives don't need saving from themselves we're looking for a solution to the commie problem.

We are Americans and conservatives so we should save ourselves on our own without the father figure or prophet to deliver us.

George Washington and Ronald Reagan, to mention two, fit that bill for Americans pretty well.

But we do have to find ways to communicate and act in concert.

That's what leaders are good for.

Since 2001 OPEC has not gotten a dime from me.

Since 2008 Obama hasn’t gotten a dime from me.

Since 2009, I have not owned a TV, nor paid one dime for any entertainment, zero support for liberal media.

I employ myself, and I train myself. I walk a minimum of 5 miles a day, and train in a martial art whose tactics are in effect just like sentry removal.

If I lost everything tomorrow, I could walk on.
