Iran could announce a temporary halt to uranium enrichment before next month’s U.S. election in a move to save Barack Obama’s presidency, a source affiliated with high Iranian officials said today.
The source, who remains anonymous for security reasons, said a three-person delegation of the Obama administration led by a woman engaged in secret negotiations yesterday with a representative of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The delegation urged the Iranian leader to announce a halt to enrichment, even if temporary, before the Nov. 6 election, promising removal of some sanctions.
The source said the delegation warned that a Mitt Romney presidency would change the U.S. relationship with Iran regarding its nuclear program.
The U.S. representatives reminded the Iranians that President Obama has stood in front of Israel, preventing the Jewish state from attacking Iran over its illicit nuclear arms policy.
The Obama message said: “I didn’t want to impose sanctions on your central bank, but I had no options but to approve it since a Congress majority had approved the decision.”
A unanimous U.S. Senate vote had approved strong sanctions against the Iranian central bank and oil industry, but with a veto threat by the president, the effective date of the implementation of the sanctions was delayed to July 1.

Of course,within hours of the Electoral College's vote in December Iran would announce..."only kidding".
That was over 30 years ago. Iranians in those days could remember life before the mullahs.

Iran’s Supreme Leader: Iranians Not to Surrender to Pressures
(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said that sanctions and pressures cannot force the Iranian nation to surrender since Iranians are strong and always overcome problems.
Addressing a group of young Iranian elites here in Tehran on Wednesday, the Leader pointed to the different sanctions and pressures imposed by enemies against the country during the last 33 years since the victory of the Islamic Revolution (1979), and noted that the Iranian nation has always withstood pressures and grown more powerful.
“During the last 33 years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been faced with a wide range of different political, security, military and economic pressures and sanctions, but the Iranian nation has defused these pressures and even grown more powerful through its resistance,” said the Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that growing pressures against the Iranian nation are mainly aimed at making the nation surrender, “but the Iranian nation has and will never surrender to pressures and this has made the enemy furious.”
The Leader further said that the Iranian nation will overcome the harsh conditions through reliance on its natural wealth and talented people.
Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under four rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down West’s calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment.
Tehran has dismissed the West’s demand as politically tainted and illogical, stressing that sanctions and pressures merely consolidate Iranians’ national resolve to continue the path.
Political observers believe that the United States has remained at loggerheads with Iran mainly over the independent and home-grown nature of Tehran’s nuclear technology, which gives the Islamic Republic the potential to turn into a world power and a role model for the other third-world countries.

Iran is on the verge of chaos. The truth is the sanctions, which Obama initially opposed, are working. They are working at least to collapse their economy. Their currency resembles something form the Weimar Republic in the late 1920s. It may only be weeks away from a total collapse. The question is, what happens when there are riots in the streets on Tehran?

I am beginning to feel that if this jerk wants to go to whatever measure it takes to retain the presidency, no matter how unlawful or deceitful, go for it. What can we do about it, anyway? THe media will always cover for him.
I se this as a veiled threat. Either we elect Obma or they will build their bomb.
They will build it anyway, but they are willing to hold up a bit to get Obama elected.

But unlink Iran’s public promises, Obama’s secret promise to the Egyptian ambassador - that he was and still is a Muslim who supports the Muslim agenda and that world Muslims could be patient with him because once he got Obamacare crammed down our throats he would turn to implementing the Muslim agenda - are being fulfilled before our very eyes. Even when that means seeing our own military and diplomatic personnel offered as sacrifices to the Islamist regimes that Obama has helped to replace our previous allies in the war on terror.
We have a foreign enemy combatant occupying our White House. Plain and simple. It’s about time the public came to the full realization of what that means.
Obama posse’s treachery knows no bounds. If true, this would be treasonous... putting US and “allies” security on the line to hold on to power... but don’t expect the ABC nightly news to tell you this.
