Mexico now seeing wave of immigrants
San Antonio Express News ^ | 7 October 2012 | Jason Buch

When Pete Navarro showed up three years ago in this industrial city a few hours' drive from the border, he spoke barely a word of Spanish and hardly knew a soul.

The San Antonio resident, who went to Jay High School, lost his legal residency in December 2009 and was deported to his native Mexico. He hadn't been there since he was a child, and the only people he knew were his aunt and her family. He left his parents and two children in San Antonio.

“So when I got here, my two cousins were my best friends, because they could speak English,” Navarro said.

Navarro, 33, has taken part in a historic migration. For the first time in decades, more people are moving from the U.S. to Mexico than are coming to the U.S. from Mexico, the Pew Hispanic Center reported in April. Some, like Navarro, are deported, but the vast majority came to Mexico voluntarily, according to the report.

It can be difficult for those who come voluntarily and involuntarily. Many struggle with the language, have trouble in Mexican schools and find it difficult to integrate into Mexican society.

But they also find opportunity, often thanks to the English they learned growing up north of the Rio Grande.

It took Navarro only a few days to find an industry waiting with open arms to accept workers from the wave of more than a million people who have moved from the U.S. to Mexico in recent years: call centers.

As horrible as Mexico is, they actually have more freedoms in some areas than we do. If they go with some money in their pockets it’s a lot easier to start a small business there.

The reason they are moving back is because we are bleeding jobs, and our GDP is roughly 1/6 of theirs right now and our government is now just as corrupt as theirs ever was. It’s an indicator of how little opportunity is now left in this country, not something to crow about.

If we eliminated welfare, there would be no need for illegal aliens.

Why doesn’t anybody ever ask...

22 million Mexicans managed to swim or wade across a treacherous river, cross a blistering, deadly desert, dart across a highway and FIND A JOB in a country where nobody wants them and they don’t even speak the language... yet ghetto welfare queens cannot find a way to support themselves?

The Mexicans get no “Section 8”, welfare, food stamps and mange not only to somehow support themselves, but usually send money back to poorer family members back home in Mexico.

What’s more - they often pay ‘coyotes’ for the journey.

Two ABSOLUTE LIES!

(1) ALL illegal Mexicans speak Spanish rather than English. No exceptions.
(2) He left 2 welfare (love accidents)behind for the tax paying citizens to support.

Absolute lies by a biased media.

Guess who are the ones returning to Mexico?

It is those who LEGALLY Immigrated to America!

THEY are the ones who can’t find work here, and are returning to Mexico.

The presence of the ILLEGAL Immigrants in America, are imposing SLAVE WAGES on the Legal Immigrants!

Their dollars go further there, and I’ll bet that not a few are small business owners who found that between government regulations and the economy it’s almost impossible for them to make a small business survive in the United States. So they’ll try again in Mexico, and Mexico will prosper as the U.S. gets poorer.

“If we eliminated welfare, there would be no need for illegal aliens.”

Actually, a large number of illegals come to this country to get welfare. WIC aid can be given to illegals - free food for mothers, babies and young children. Forged papers not only allow them to get jobs; they provide documentation to sign up for other welfare programs. Emergency rooms must provide care, no questions allowed. Thanks to federal regs, that care must include things like clean diapers for those who are too lazy to buy fresh ones.

Goldfish learn to gather when a person has a can of fish food in their hand; people are at least as smart as fish.

Two and a half years after going to work at Global Telesourcing, he was able to buy a house in Monterrey. He says that would have taken “forever” in the U.S

Good. Maybe more illegals will follow him.

On Meet the Press this morning, Dem spokesblob Hillary Rosen mentioned as a talking point against Mitt how Mexican immigrants would have to fear being deported and their families destroyed.

The comeback should have been that Mexican immigrants both legal and illegal did tremendous under Bush in a strong economy and even they are sucking wind under Barry’s leadership.

our GDP is roughly 1/6 of theirs right now

Since US GDP is a lot bigger than Mexico's, did you mean GDP growth rate?
