By record-high margin, debate watchers say Romney did better
PRINCETON, NJ -- Registered voters' preferences for president are evenly split in the first three days of Gallup tracking since last Wednesday's presidential debate. In the three days prior to the debate, Barack Obama had a five-percentage-point edge among registered voters.
Gallup typically reports voter presidential preferences in seven-day rolling averages; the latest such average as of Saturday interviewing shows Obama with an average three-point edge, 49% to 46%, among registered voters. This Sept. 30-Oct. 6 field period includes three days before the Oct. 3 debate, the night of the debate itself, and three days after the debate.
Even on this basis, the race has become somewhat more competitive compared with before the first debate.........

"In 2008, President Barack Obama won the independent vote over John McCain by a margin of eight points, 52-44. This morning, a new Battleground Poll has Mitt Romney massacring Obama among indies by a whopping 16 points, 51-35......"
Well, it’s Gallup, so you KNOW that they oversample Dems.
Once they move to their likely voter model, Romney should pull ahead.
In previous years they switch to the likely voter model on Labor Day. That was a month ago. Why the delay?

Because if they show Obozo losing he won’t be able to raise any money and Romney could win.
Pray for America
Obama isn’t going to be able to suddenly defend his record any better in the next prez two debates.
I think he will to some degree put up a better defense; but he’ll still be on the defensive and Romney will still look like the more knowledgeable of the two. I also think Obama will try to put Romney on the defensive (taxes/Bain..:) so that he will have to spend his time answering Obamas attacks rather than attacking Obama’s record. Expect Romney to give a quick, clear response to Obama’s attacks and turn it back around to Obama’s record.
