OK, guys. There have been countless polls in the last 48 hours (mostly showing Romney momentum), but sometimes I find that stories from the guy next door tell me more and are the most convincing to me. I'd like to hear about friends or even enemies of yours switching away from Obama and to Romney, or perhaps simply towards Conservatism. I sense this is happening in a big way, and that the debate was not Obama merely laying an egg, but the aftermath of the debate is a result of a clash of ideas, where liberal ideas were exposed!
One friend of mine told me that their family was very pro-Obama, especially his 16-year-old son. After the debate, his son turned to him and said, "Dad. I think that now I would vote for Romney, if I could vote." And he got up and left the room.
Fire away! I'd love to hear your "conversion" stories or other "boots on the ground" evidence of change that I feel is in the air.
I do not know a single person voting FOR Romney, every one is voting AGAINST obama.
It is sad that we do not have a candidate that people are voting for.
(What worries me, is the Romney will think he is chosen as opposed to voting against the other guy)
I live in California and it is bloody hopeless here, but I would love to hear about what is happening in other areas of the country, especially the battleground states.
You’re still a big winner though. Moon Beam is lowering gas prices there in hopes of pulling Barry’s chestnuts out of the fire. That’s what I’ve been hearing and reading all day anyway. Barry’s state controlled “media” is saying gas prices are getting ready to take the plunge. LOL! Those toads in the “media” would say and do anything for their “messiah”.
I’m voting for Romney.
He beat Zero More than anyone in my 60 years and that goes for Reagan too!
Now if you knew this sister of mine I don't know which is more EPIC: that she watched a debate or that she's voting for Romney!
For the most part the polls are swaying in the undecided wind...and those people are def half-wits. I think they’ll basically support whoever the press tells them is the winner.
I don’t know anyone who has changed their vote but If you didn’t listen to the radio or watch the tv and internet you would never know there was even a presidential election going on. I haven’t seen a single yard sign. Did see a Romney Ryan 2012 painted on a grain bin. The town near us is almost all low income farm laborers. The whole town is on foodstamps and welfare. Last time around there were Obama Biden signs in every yard. This year not a one.
I hear that even the Obamaphone lady (Lady?) is thinking of changing her vote after the debate debacle!
I live in the People’s Republic of Seattle. In 2008 literally every other car had an Obama sticker.
Now It seems to be about ten percent or less.
AND last week I was an anti Obama bumper sticker on a truck in the parking lot of a PCC (Liberal cooperative grocery where I was shopping.
It had a picture of Obama and read: Does this ass make my truck look fat?
This in a liberal bastion.

That may have been true before the debate but most people supporting Romney are NOW doing so enthusiastically. Imperfect as he is he is head and shoulders (x10) above Obama. Sorry but that is the blunt truth.

After the debate I got a Big “ you're right Obama’s just plain stupid and has got to go, we're ordering Romney yard signs right now”. I think the debate helped them to see him as a person, not just a “scary Mormon”. They would have never voted for Obama, but now Romney had 8 more votes in Florida!
albionin, you are right about the signs I live in NJ and last time there were plenty of signs, I remember distinctly because we moved from a very dem area to a very republican area and I was so happy to see all the McCain signs, but there were Obama signs too. Now there is just the Ron Paul sign up the street that’s been here the whole four years (and will be there another four years and probably for four years after Dr. Paul passes away, unless Rand runs, then we might get a change there).
I don’t know if this shows lack of support for Romney or not. This really is a Republican area, but it’s suburban NJ, so I don’t think it’s a hot-bed of conservatism. I suppose I might have one or two neighbors who won’t vote Romney because he’s too big of a RINO, but I doubt that explains the near total lack of signs. I’m getting the feeling that people have made up their minds and are just going to go vote for Romney. I hope that’s the case anyway.
In addition let me say we drive 80 miles roundtrip to work every day, back up to the dem stronghold of Hudson County, I am seeing very, very, very few Obama stickers, almost none in fact. I find that pretty telling. I’m not saying folks won’t vote for him, and I’m sure he’ll carry NJ, but as the old song says: the feeling’s gone, it’s gone away.
MacMattico - I think the fact that they got a huge audience for the debate shows how concerned people (even people like your sister) are about the state of the country. That alone bodes quite ill for Obama, if folks were basically happy, would they tune in? I doubt it! There’s really no curiosity factor here, Obama’s the celebrity president and even Romney is a well-known and rather unexciting figure.
Romney did a great job at that debate, I don’t know how he could have been better. He really rose to the occasion and he helped himself tremendously. If he can do that 2 more times he should prevail in November.
My sister announced to the whole family she was going to vote Romney this time around.
My dad nearly died (but likely would have still voted if he had passed) and tried to talk her out of it.
He failed.
She might just earn her way back on to my friends list on Facebook.

I live in NW WA state and the only YARD signs I’ve seen are in Anacortes...Romney/Ryan....the only bumper stickers are...O/Biden

The guy is as slippery as an eel. During the primaries he was running on tax cuts for the eeeevil rich, and now he’s saying he’s for tax cuts on the middle class and that the rich would be “okay” regardless of who won the race.
The only thing Romney is winning is the style contest, because I’m not seeing a difference anymore in the campaigning. Gone are the days when conservatives worried about a platform.
On one hand, Romney is one of the worst candidates you'll ever see, from a purely political perspective. He's simply not a very "natural" politician.
On the other hand, he's one of the most capable men ever to run for the White House in this nation's history. Anyone who has dealt with CEOs in industry will understand how people like this operate. One of their most important attributes is one that serves them very poorly in a popularity contest, and that is their ability to be completely detached and devoid of all personal connection when dealing with a situation that requires strong leadership.
This is why I pay no attention to campaign speeches, campaign ads, etc. This is all just "noise" in the background of a very important election. If you want to get a sense of where things really stand, just sit down and watch the entire length of last week's debate -- with the sound off. Those two people didn't even belong in the same zip code, let alone on a stage in a presidential debate.
