CBS News and "60 Minutes" reporter Lara Logan lambasted the Obama administration for pushing the "major lie" that the Taliban has been weakened in Afghanistan by the U.S. military. Logan gave a blistering speech in Chicago this past week that ripped the administration for the way it has handled the war in Afghanistan and the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya. "I chose this subject because, one, I can't stand that there is a major lie being propagated," Logan said about the administration touting the weakening of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Speaking about Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya who was killed, Logan says she hopes the U.S. will "exact revenge and let the world know that the United States will not be attacked on its own soil. That its ambassadors will not be murdered, and that the United States will not stand by and do nothing about it."

Not to make light of her horrific ordeal during the “Arab Spring”, and don’t know her political leanings before that, but apparently it’s true, a conservative is a liberal whose been mugged.
Or in her case nearly raped by Islamists. It’s really sad that it takes a vicious tragedy to bring people round, but that’s the cost of liberal indoctrination.

IIRC she covered the riots in Cairo last year and while there was raped...more than once.But hey....some leftists *never* see the light.If it was Angrier Mitchell she would have observed that her assaults were a legitimate expression of outrage over their oppression by Western infidels.

Her ‘news bits’ may be pulled, that is out of her control, but she is not going to shut up - she has looked directly into the eye of the beast(s) and survived - trail by fire which hardens the courage it took to get through that ordeal and still be a functioning human being, something Obummer knows nothing about and cannot comprehend.

It was a poor day and many of the comments were awful. However, many of those posters had a valid point. We can’t prescribe our values onto others. This is the main problem with our foreign policy in the Middle East.
Outside of the usual crude peanut gallery remarks, I won’t disagree with those who said she had no business being there. They don’t respect women like we do in the Middle East, but media executives are so stuck on stupid with political correctness that they endanger their employees instead of denying assignments that may not be politically correct.
I appreciate the honesty of her remarks and it mirrors what I hear from friends who are or have been deployed there recently. We are not winning enough hearts and minds despite the sacrifices we have made there. We will never create Western democracy in these nations because there are not enough educated people and too many Islamists. Despite this fact, we continue to waste lives and money trying. Islam is stronger than any desire for Western culture and values and it would take something drastic to change that - possibly many generations.
I think for many who made snide remarks it was less about Lara and more about the foolishness of the progressive media to send a female into a Muslim mob with no law enforcement presence. This idiocy is also permeating our military.
I can tell you from experience that most young men in the Infantry would die like lemmings trying to save a female soldier. It was that way 20 years ago and it is that way today. It is genetically hard-wired into most non-metrosexual young men and no amount of politically correct policy will change that.
It’s not so much that Lara Logan became a conservative - as it’s that she became a realist.
Hillary’s comment about how she couldn’t believe ‘they’ would do this after we ‘liberated them’ - is typical of liberal delusion.
Logan no longer buys delusions.
Sick pigs, but I wasn’t certain she was raped. From what I’d heard described they were brutally grabbing at her genitals and tearing her clothes off. Either way it was a horrific, brutal and totally barbaric attack. America really needs to be wholly aware of the menace we have faced for decades. They know we are at war, we don’t.
