President Barack Obama leads Republican Mitt Romney by 10 points in the race for New Mexicos five electoral votes, with about three weeks remaining before Election Day, the Journal Poll found.
The Democratic president had 49 percent support in the statewide survey of likely voters, and some who had already voted, compared with 39 percent of voters who said they preferred Romney.
Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party nominee for president, had 6 percent support in the survey. Five percent of New Mexico voters were undecided.
The Journal Poll was conducted Oct. 9-11. The margin of sampling error for the statewide sample of voters is plus or minus 3.8 percentage points. Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election started Oct. 9.
Barack Obama has solidified his lead in New Mexico, said Brian Sanderoff, president of Albuquerque-based Research & Polling Inc., which conducted the poll. Hes broadened his lead in the Albuquerque metro area and among independents, and that has led to an increased lead statewide.

These results also make it unlikely Republicans will gain US House seats (two of three are currently Democratic; strong conservative Steve Pearce will win his race in SE NM), and the two Senate seats in NM will remain Democratic (one currently held by Tom Udall and Heinrich [even more of a left-wing eco-nazi* than Udall, if possible] likely to win the other.)
(* has ties to convicted eco-terrorist Dave Foreman, but this has been exposed by only one blogger as far as I know [Heinrich Ties to Eco-Terrorists a Well-Kept Secret (NM Dem Senate Candidate]) .
Quite frankly, I think at this point that any state that actually votes to elect Obama should be expelled from the union.

Let the illegals have that state...
Reporting a poll like this may backfire and depress their lazy Dem asses from actually showing up at the polls, thinking it’s in the bag, so why bother.........
Can I seek asylum in your state once Washington is expelled?
I’d sooner expect California to vote for Romney, at this point. Next!
Given that Obozo is under 50%, given the 3.8% sampling error, given the standard oversampling of Democrats by the in-the-tank for the Kenyan polling outfit, given that some of Johnson’s support will peel by election day, and given that Romney is surging, expect Romney to carry New Mexico. Bush did it in 04 despite Bill Richardson assuring the frantic liberal media that Bush could not and would not win NM. Bush carried NM in 04.
What’s the matter with the Cactus State? It went Republican in 2004.
Front page above the fold in Sunday's ABQ Journal:
I don’t know, Florida has yet to determine its fate. I’m hopeful, but still leary.
I might have to go back to Louisiana.
If anyone is hurt or killed when the left riots because skewed (fraudulent) polling indicated an Obama lead going into election day, the purpetrators of the fraud will have blood on their hands and should all be held accountable.
UC Boulder says NM will go Romney.
Must be a lot of stupid people in NM who think the economy is awesome
Of course, but people could be lying extensively to pollsters..........
Question:
How many Mormons live in NM?.......
Changing voter characteristics - more urban (ABQ), more Hispanic, more entitlement mentality. On the other hand, most rural areas don’t have both hands out for government support. The eastside, for example is where the jobs* are currently - large O&G presence, mostly rural with hardscrabble but fiercely independent ranchers.
*Jobs are plentiful but housing is tight - city is now letting construction workers park and live in RV’s on construction sites provided temporary water and sewer permits are approved. Another 112 apartment complex started Friday. “Help wanted” signs everywhere.
Well, compared to where they came from it probably is!........
Looks like the hispanics better turn out since the Whites are going hard Romney.
Pray for America
