It takes a big man to admit when hes wrong. I am NOT a big man. ~ Fletch Lives
Apparently the president of the United States of America is NOT a big man either and is willing to let Hillary Clinton take the fall for him How noble of him and the vice president.
The word ETHOS comes to mind. What is ETHOS? According to Merriam-Webster, Ethos is the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group, or institution.
What is this president and vice presidents code or ethos? I have serious questions and doubt about where their hearts are I do not believe they are serious about protecting the US from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Oh wait, that was my oath. The oath I took as an enlisted man when I served the nation in the Navy. The presidents oath simply states; I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
To the best of my Ability there it is. This is the best he can do. He simply isnt cut out for the office. Unemployment above 8.3 percent for over 40 consecutive months, gasoline above $4.00 a gallon, 47 million recipients on food stamps and the national debt now above $16 trillion (5 trillion on his watch alone). This is the best of his Ability.
If this is the best of his ability how is it that he can in good conscience even being asking for four more years Unless, he and the vice president completely lack ethos.
Retired General and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin Powell said on leadership "The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help them or concluded that you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership."
So, which is it, have Americans finally lost confidence in this president and his ability to help get us out of this mess or is it simply that he does not care.
In my opinion, whether Hillary took one for the team or not, this is still an overwhelming failure of leadership and one that should not be rewarded with four more years to prove further that this president lacks the ability or understanding of how to lead.
Leadership is what this country needs more than anything and platitudes, speeches, and division are we are receiving as a nation. We cannot invest four more years in this president and his on the job training.
Time to move on! Time to elect someone that has the ABILITY to move the country out of the mess it is in. The test is over, pencils down, we need a new president.
Solid move on her part. It keeps her alive.
It makes her look like a leader, even if it’s an epic fail at the moment.
It separates her from the adolescents in the Administration.
Hill gave an excuse from Peru.
That’s not leadership.
Sadly, that’s more than Obama has mustered.
Them’s the facts.
“Taking responsibility” and “leadership” is resigning.
Yeah, if you call the shadow of a snake the bigger man, then I wold agree with you.
Hillary did not set the policies that she carried out (fomenting jihadism, weakening our defenses, etc.) but simply, as a mystifyingly loyal flunky, sort of carried them out or at least spoke on their behalf. Everybody knows that the SOS is not responsible for setting the policy itself; that came from Obama or whoever the heck it is who is behind him (Jarrett and the Islamist gang?).
Heck, Hillary even blamed the immediate screw up on some unnamed underlings (the “security team”) who she claimed didn’t inform her that there was a problem.
This was a last-ditch gesture to protect Obama before the debates, and it will have no impact on Hillary’s future. I think she has already let it be known that even if Obama does get reelected, she plans to leave the administration at the end of this term. I don’t think she’s even aiming at being the candidate in 2016 anymore, but will probably do what Bill does, make big bucks on the lecture and teaching circuit.
Curiously, I think it’s made Obama look even worse in this whole affair.
Funny, but when it comes to the president, the VP and the Secretary of State - ETHOS is the last quality I think of.
Oh my God...the horror, the horror, the horror!
I doubt that hillary’s ankles ever looked that good ...
“...the shadow of a snake.”
First time I heard that — But agree it is apropos.
Lack of ETHOS...
Hussein isn’t any kind of man.
Heck, NO! She is being lauded by the MSM as some sort of heroine! It is so rare for a politician to admit responsibility that the MSM is going all gooey over her.
But, let's get back to the truth. If she is truly responsible, the blood of Americans is on her hands and she should be removed from office in disgrace. I won't hold my breath.
This must have cost Obama plenty, especially on the day of the debate. I'm thinking that, regardless of the election outcome, he will loudly and passionately be backing her for the presidency in 2016.
Hillary suffers from grandiosity. Who wouldn’t when they are untouchable, held unaccountable, given a permanent pass , both personally, professionally and politically, from the sympathy voters, particularly women, whose vote Republicans need desperately, and give the independence she was showered to run foreign policy out of the State Department.
Hillary knew her responsibility remark would ingratiate her with all interest groups.
She also knew Intel exposed her last week, despise her, and have proof of her guilt, so they threw her overboard.
Never have seen such an obnoxious declaration of responsibility where she still BLAMES intell for her 11 day lie!
She just out foxed the fox.
With Hillary marching across the stage to stand in front of a podium in her large pants suits, she is truly her ‘daddy’s little man.’
If she fell on a grenade to save the skin of that phony presently occupying the White Hut I would still hate her.
Actually I hate her more.
I thought the same when I first heard it just recently.
I wish I could take credit for it, but I’m not that creative.
I read it in Game of Thrones as a knight used the expression to describe a particularly loathesome character named Viserys.
I thought to myself as I read, what an interesting comparison, and how fitting it is to our current leaders.
So credit goes to Mr. Martin, a fantastic author, liberal though he may be.
Ask Huma what kind of a man Hillary is. She sure ain’t no Weiner.
