CROWLEY: It did.
ROMNEY: It took them a long time to say this was a terrorist act by a terrorist group. And to suggest -- am I incorrect in that regard, on Sunday, the -- your secretary --
OBAMA: Candy?
ROMNEY: Excuse me. The ambassador of the United Nations went on the Sunday television shows and spoke about how --
OBAMA: Candy, I'm --
ROMNEY: -- this was a spontaneous --
CROWLEY: Mr. President, let me --
OBAMA: I'm happy to have a longer conversation --
CROWLEY: I know you --
OBAMA: -- about foreign policy.
You can see Romney was trying to make the points about Ambassador Rice's TV appearances, etc., and got cut off three consecutive times.
Fox News crawl, now has Susan Rice quote:
“My information was based purely on information from intel sources AND OFFICIALS IN THE ADMINISTRATION” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Candy Crowley has already admitted she made a mistake on this!
After everyone had tuned into something else. She did her duty when called upon by her guy while they were live!
Can someone please explain to me why Obama admin and campaign is being so stupid on this issue. Obama had the Libya thing sewed up, at least for this debate, but over-reached with this idea that he called it an act of terror the next day. Even his supporters are bailing on him on this one. And now, instead of being able to talk about his debate win, the next week or two will STILL be about parsing their statements on Libya. They are really bungling this one.

You are so right that Candy’s sticking up for her democrat comrade was viewed by many more millions than her retraction.
Let us hope Romney will get the chance to point out the Benghazi lies in his next and last debate coming up on Monday.
