'Paul Ryan Girl' Reveals Fear of Being Openly Conservative in Show Biz
Big Hollywood ^ | 16 Oct 2012 | by Katherine Makinney

Writing the lyrics, finding a conservative Olivia Newton John sound-alike, and a free recording studio was easy. What was hard? Finding someone to star in it.

I assumed “Paul Ryan Girl” would be the same. Nope. No liberal would touch it. One woman at the casting call gave us a horrified look, “you mean this is pro-Ryan?” “Hmmm, yeah” She shuddered. No, she couldn’t do this and ran out of my house.

Conservative actresses who had nary a commercial to their name refused. “It would hurt my career.” “My agent wouldn’t allow me to do this.” “My manager thinks it’s a bad idea.”

Enter Maredith Walker. Not only did she audition for the part, she wanted her name on it. She was beautiful, talented and would show up early on a Sunday morning for an all-day shoot. What was not to like? Well, she was a true conservative. She had things like, oh, principles she lived by.

Needless to say, we did it. Walker is both sexy and ridiculous and wonderful in the piece. But … unlike everyone else working on it … she wanted her name on the opening. Her name? Conservatives are swatted like mosquitoes and careers put out to pasture for less. She inspired me. Put my name on it, too! To hell with them.

Within 48 hours of uploading the piece to YouTube, Walker was being interviewed on national TV, we had 82,000 hits, twelve media outlets had run a story on it and more were seeking interviews. A well-known conservative producer wanted Walker’s contact to put her in a feature film he was casting.

If you can get past the terrible karaoke accompaniment and her horrible attempt at lip-sync, her singing is OK.

I am attracted by her, uh, politics.

And McCarthyism was worse than this? Hollywood workers are afraid to even appear in a Republican for fear of the consequences?

Can ya' vote for the guy without falling in love with him.

He'd make a good vice president, and in time, maybe even a good president.

But if voting for Romney depends on thinking Ryan is wonderful -- well, that could cost Mitt the election.

I am a gal and watched her on Hannity. At first I kind of chuckled at her video, but after the interview, I liked her. She is a conservative girl and wanted to meet Ann Coulter. Hannity said he would arrange that. Not too bad for a youngin’.

Pretty young lady too.

I've seen the video... "Beautiful?" She's WAY past that! Adjectives that come to my mind are perfect and flawless!

Holy mackerel, that is one incredibly, phenomenally, spectacularly GORGEOUS young lady!

Excuse me?

Do you realize that Romney is the choice of most conservatives BECAUSE of Ryan? Yes, because Paul Ryan makes Romney legitimate.

Maybe you could tell us just what it is about Ryan you find troublesome. Personally, Ryan is everything I want to see in a candidate for office. Holding my nose to vote for Romney is a hell of a lot easier thanks to Ryan being on the ticket.
