Safely ensconced in Boudoir MacNessa. The Fighting Irish are doing OK. All is well! Goodnight to the Canteen!
I stood in line 2.5 hours today to vote.
In Broward County.
Across the street from a HUGE Senior Citizen Condo Complex.
Loudmouth Blue-hairs in line yakking about how much they HATE Republicans and Romney.
Purple Shirted SEIU people hovering around.
A lone woman with a sign that said “PRAY TO END ABORTION” Was subjected to catcalls and insults.
And when I got my ballot, the word “REP” was printed on it and circled in red.
Then I went to a musical starring one of my High School Students, for a nice evening out. It turned out to be “WORKING” by Studs Terkel, and the only positive character in this anti-capitalism screed was a COMMUNITY ORGANIZER!
I am NOT making this up.
(When my student’s dad asked me how I liked the production, I told him that the KIDS were fantastic, but the Play was depressing, negative, and mean spirited. He agreed. THEN, I discovered it was first performed in 1978....The Carter Years! That explained everything.)
A popular song from years ago titled From a Distance envisions a world of harmony and peace. It says, God is watching us from a distance. Indeed God is watching us, but not from a distance. He is present, in the room with you, right in front of you, gazing at you with unbounded love in His eyes.
I think of the example of Brother Lawrence, who spent long years working in a kitchen washing pots and pans and repairing the sandals of other monks. He wrote: As often as I could, I placed myself as a worshiper before Him, fixing my mind upon His holy presence.
That is our task as well. But we forget and sometimes need reminders of His presence. I have driven an old handmade nail into the shelf over my desk to remind me that the crucified and resurrected Jesus is always present. Our task is to remember to set the Lord always before [us] (Ps. 16:8)to know that He is with us to the end of the age (Matt. 28:20) and that He is not far from each one of us (Acts 17:27).
Remembering may be as simple as calling to mind that the Lord has promised to be with you all through the day and saying to Him, Good morning, or Thank You, or Help! or I love You.
Read: Acts 17:22-31
But even so...waiting in line for two hours to exercise my freedom is NOTHING compared to fighting for your life for seven hours to secure that freedom.
Just sayin’.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...rather a depressing 2.5 hours, but proud that you waited out the creeps. Brainwashed with lies, intimidation...their stock in trade.
Sorry your nice evening out wasn’t. More brainwashing.
A Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Appreciate your kind words!
The only saving grace was the finale, a song entitled “I BUILT THAT!” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
OMG!! I wonder if they know what they’ve done. Or....could it be on purpose??
Well...thge Play was from 1978, so people still believed that “They Built That”. Stupid Obozo was born (allegedly_) in 1961, so he would have only allegedly been 17 at the time it was written.
Good evening, Mayor, and thanks for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to The Mayor family.
Hope your weekend is going well.
Thank you Kathy!
So far rain these past couple days, more expected as that hurricane works its way up the coast and we get remnants of it.
Have a great Lords day my FRiend!
Good morning, Yehuda, and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Our fighters in the wars against jihad and communism really are in need of prayers...the more the better. It seems this admin doesn’t much care, but we care. Thank you!
The Muslim forces are so strong and crazy and getting more nuked up that Hashem has to provide 50% of Israel’s protection. The Israeli military will do the rest. “Praise God and pass the ammunition”
Welcome to the Canteen, Bravada....a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Good morning, Dennis, and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
I pray that Israel stays strong until we have someone with honor back in the White House who will be there for them if needed.
