"The family and supporters of a U.S. soldier convicted and sentenced to prison for shooting and killing a terror suspect who apparently lunged at him and tried to grab his weapon say they are preparing to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene in the case and affirm the soldiers right to self defense."

I watched “The Devil’s Brigade” this weekend: A scene showed the commander of the Canadian detachment being killed by a German POW. The German POW didn’t last long.
There used to be some general understanding about this. Failure of the education system?
ROE’s have sucked since ‘Nam.
If the brass isn’t willing to let the troops fight, then we need to stay home!

God bless them! I will check on how to help. Thanks for posting.
Anything else is BS.
there you go... ;)
Obama was a murderer long before Osama ben Laden.
The mission of the infantry:
To close with the enemy by fire and maneuver to destroy them and their will to fight.
Old School FM 7-8
OMGoodness!!!! How scarey is this for our soldiers?! This is outrageous. Someone tell Romney because this treason matches Obama’s and DOD’s Libyan response!
But none of this is real to liberals. It’s all some sort of abstract interactive game or something.
They have this little manual in their heads of what life should be and if real life (or people) don’t conform to that, they don’t consider their manual wrong. They just keep doing the same idiot things ad infinitum (and ad nauseum) thinking that next time the players in their little game will start following the rules as they believe them to be. There is nothing wrong with their approach or methods, everyone else is just not doing what they are supposed to be doing.
Like some sort of insane “Ground Hog Day” movie. Over and over and over. No matter how many people die, no matter many economies are destroyed, no matter how many bad guys don’t join hands and sing kum by ya, they just never quit. It will work next time for sure.
That is a very good point! I’ll bet many on obamas hit list are unarmed when they get drone offed. Same ROE for the CIC? I think not!
And the ROE for a 300 yard sniper kill is ... (?)
Keep in mind our boots on the ground are the ones in the dirt, the flies, the shit. On that day in Iraq the raghead Behenna killed WAS Osama. The same for my nephew, SGt. Evan Vela Carnahan, and many more.
Osama needed killing. THEY ALL NEEDED KILLING.
For those men to sit in the Leavenworth USDB while obama, and yes Bush, laud their “accomplishments”, is pure and utter BULLSHIT.
That little line “We hold ourselves to a higher standard” is pure and utter bullshit.
It served Ambassador Stevens and the three others well.
I more than fully agree with you. In my day, we would never have dreamed of having to suffer such stupidity in a combat situation -- of your "leaders" expecting the aggressor to be pacified by offering him every possible opportunity to kill you, and requiring you to accept this fairy-world view or be jailed as a murderer.
I grieve for the warriors of this age having to endure this insult to one's instinct for self- and unit-preservation in surviving until the next combat contact.

Duty, Honor, Country, and the prosecutors failed on all three.
Thank you for your service.
