I watched “The Devil’s Brigade” this weekend: A scene showed the commander of the Canadian detachment being killed by a German POW. The German POW didn’t last long.
There used to be some general understanding about this. Failure of the education system?

OMGoodness!!!! How scarey is this for our soldiers?! This is outrageous. Someone tell Romney because this treason matches Obama’s and DOD’s Libyan response!

But none of this is real to liberals. It’s all some sort of abstract interactive game or something.
They have this little manual in their heads of what life should be and if real life (or people) don’t conform to that, they don’t consider their manual wrong. They just keep doing the same idiot things ad infinitum (and ad nauseum) thinking that next time the players in their little game will start following the rules as they believe them to be. There is nothing wrong with their approach or methods, everyone else is just not doing what they are supposed to be doing.
Like some sort of insane “Ground Hog Day” movie. Over and over and over. No matter how many people die, no matter many economies are destroyed, no matter how many bad guys don’t join hands and sing kum by ya, they just never quit. It will work next time for sure.

I more than fully agree with you. In my day, we would never have dreamed of having to suffer such stupidity in a combat situation -- of your "leaders" expecting the aggressor to be pacified by offering him every possible opportunity to kill you, and requiring you to accept this fairy-world view or be jailed as a murderer.
I grieve for the warriors of this age having to endure this insult to one's instinct for self- and unit-preservation in surviving until the next combat contact.
