Holy God,

In the storms of nature, in the trials of life, and in all circumstances, You are God. You are our Refuge, our Fortress, our Sure Defense. Make us to dwell in the shadow of Your wings until these calamities pass by. Protect America from the fierce storm of nature; and in Your own omnipotent way, cause good to come to this nation, and all those who call You Lord.

Long ago our forefathers prayed for this great nation, seeking Your guidance, and petitioning Your will to be done. We come before You now also, Lord, for Your promise is to bless the nation that turns to You and that leaves its wicked ways. Strengthen us in our commitment to You and Your ways, Father. Let us not be deceived: our lives do make a difference even against all the worldliness, against false teachings, and against false gods in this culture. The manner in which we represent Your Kingdom each day still is able to bring salt and light to a dark world.

Father, we pray for You to avenge the death of the four Americans in Benghazi. Let all that is hidden be revealed in Your perfect timing. Let those who are hiding the truth for political gain be held accountable for their own deception.

Bless our troops, Lord, with the comfort of Your presence, the joy of Your strength, the assurance of Your faithfulness, and the enabling grace to do all that You have called them to do. Defend them, Lord, as they defend their beloved nation. Stir up neighbors and friends and church members to lend assistance to the families of those deployed.

Lord, we come against any efforts to defraud our system of election through the casting of illegal votes or the purchasing of votes by any means. Help us, Lord, to hold our officials accountable. We ask that You would cause any fraudulent vote to remain uncounted.

We exalt You, O God, above the heavens. May Your glory be praised this day and forevermore. Thank You for being the God of America, the God of all creation, the One Who remains the same, even in these turbulent times. We love You, we need You, and we are grateful for Your unending love and Your amazing grace. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
