Here's a little angle to the Hurricane Sandy story that might not be noticed when they are analyzing the effect the storm could have on the November 6th elections.
A lot of folks in the Northeast are going to be without power this week and possibly next, especially in some important swing states like Pennsylvania and Virginia and perhaps even impacting Ohio.
Without electricity, many people will choose to stay in their homes or dank emergency shelters. Without working televisions, they'll drag out the extra blankets and fire up the furnace or the fireplace while they listed to the RADIO for news and emergency updates.
Yes, radio. Many homes still have some battery-powered radios, some attached to emergency flashlights, with which they will listen attentively since the batteries on their laptops and cell phones won't function very long without recharging.
Some undecideds and even a few frustrated liberals will sit through shows like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham and possibly hear, for the first time, about stories the mainstream media has ignored or pooh-poohed and could inspire a few of them to not vote for four more years of Obama. Even if they are just miffed enough to not vote at all, that's probably a win for Romney.
Further, there are close Senate races in some of the Northeast states which might get helped by a week of otherwise busy voters listening to Limbaugh or others.
And Obama is going to milk this all the way to Election Day with announcements, manufactured dynamic images during on-site appearances and most of all a major change in subject. Libya won't see the front page again until after Nov. 6. For now, he's going to benefit.. Americans attach themselves to their president in a time of crisis. The only question is how much.
Maybe Obama’s voters will be too busy looting to vote.
The one point to be made though is, WHO are the motivated voters? No matter what, Mitt wins that one and we will vote NO MATTER WHAT (If there's an election, that is. LOL!.. This ain't over yet!)
Cracks me up to hear Shep Smith say 'Fire Island'. Isn't that a gay bar in California?? LOL
If God is siding with Romney, this hurricane has nothing to do with it. The storm could supress more Republican votes than dem. Obama’s going to have the media fawn all over him for his “expert handling” of the crisis, and it gives the media an excuse to ignore Benghazi.
I guess northeast “broken glass” conservatives are going to have to put their money where their mouth is, hey? How little did they know now prescient they were!
These sodomite baby killers should be on their knees repenting for the way that they live. Bad storms have happened in many states with very sad results.....but this is the worst storm ever experienced in the the U.S.A. and to me it's a sign of the retribution for the way things have been going in our country.
Let this storm put the fear of God into our country to save ua.
“Are you one of those who think that there is a God for Christians, a God for someone else and still another God for others? Sounds strange to me. I always thought there was only one God.”
No I’m one of those who thinks there is one God who created everything, some people worship this God. Other people have invented false Gods who they choose to worship. At least this is what Gods Word tells us.
I wasn’t planning to attack Romney, he’s the best of two poor choices. I won’t even attack you or your ignorance.
God is only your God if you’ve accepted him. Its called free will which he also gave us.
(I didn’t know only GoPers had all each an xtra canoe or kayak tucked away in their garage for special occasions like voter turnout...until you implied such in your thread)
The Big Guy also likes the Falcons @ home against Dallas on Sunday.
His Lordship proactively impacting the election in an actionable way? At the end of the day it’s a value-added win-win strategic fit!
As long as that idiot Jason Garrett is the HC of the Cowboys, I would not bet against the Falcons!
God places all leaders into their positions, be they good leaders or bad.
How are we going to vote if there’s no electricity,
since they’ve stopped using paper ballots and punch cards?
God also removes all leaders from positions, be they bad socialist leaders or arrogant "I'm-a-god-in-embryo" temple Mormon leaders...
“The Big Guy also likes the Falcons @ home against Dallas on Sunday.”
And Tony Romo will be the most valuable player for the Falcons!
Why would you think God would want His own beloved Son to suffer and die for sinful retches like us?
God allows all leaders to be in their positions. Does he place them in power? Did he place all the evil leaders in office? Or did he sit back and allow bad men to do bad things?
Speaking of wash, it looks like NYC received a power wash and a blow dry. Hopefully, it gets rid of the pee smell.
lol
Which God are we talking about now? You’re comparison is so bad it makes it difficult to tell.
