Denver, Colo., Nov 1, 2012 / 04:03 am (CNA).- The Obama campaign attempted to schedule a rally-like event on a Catholic university campus in the key swing state of Colorado before settling on a dialogue with a co-chair of Catholics for Obama.
Their original intent was to have more of a rally element to it, said Paul Alexander, director of Regis University's Institute for the Common Good, which hosted the event.
We just felt we couldnt do a rally, but we felt a healthy dialogue among Catholics was important.
About 45 people attended the Oct. 25 dialogue and small group discussion with Catholics for Obama national co-chair Nicholas P. Cafardi, a law professor and dean emeritus of Duquesne University School of Law.

A rally gone wrong LOL...sounds like the O is tanking :)
God will not be mocked.
How many were Catholics protesting misappropriation of the name?
Don't tell me. They discussed why Sandy Fluke needed so many condoms paid for by the taxpayers. This didn't go over in Reno, Nevada either.
great crowd!
was fluke or fluk the speaker?
Blessings, bobo
Sounds like there are 45 people in Colorado who need to go to Confession.
Bwahahahaha!

He sure is nice to provide all those extra seats at campaign events.
Romney has to win. If Catholics and other Christians thought Hussein was bad when he thought he had some support from them, they will see evil unleashed if he gets a second term. Praise God it’s looking highly unlikely.
Don't forget that the Catholic Church supported Franco.
Bam is goin’ down!!!!
"That's Like 'Christians Against Christ'!"
Thanks maddog55.
“Catholics for Obama” is the ultimate oxymoron, with the accent on “moron.” Your church is against contraception but you’re fine with partial birth abortion. And your beloved president is okay with snuffing out the life of a baby who was fortunate enough to dodge the abortionist’s scissors and make it out of the birth canal alive.
at the end of 5:30 mass this evening the priest, who’s given many anti-obama sermons over the summer without naming obama himself, said “as far as the election- may the best man win” which drew a lot of laughs as everyone knows who he’s voting for....
leaving mass their were people outside imploring those exiting church to “vote pro-life” and handing out cards with the names of the candidates and their stance on abortion...
the woman went to hand me one and i said “i don’t need one- i know whom i’m voting for”...
she replied, “i hope you’re pro-life”..
i responded, “i’m anti-liberal; its the same thing”...
as i’m crossing the street she yelled “good to hear!”...
True... they did. But the alternative was to support the Communists, who were bent on killing priests and destroying the Church.
LOL.
Unfortunately there was an event across town (Catholics Against the Pope) that conflicted with this one. Otherwise, a few more would have surely shown up.
How analogous to our nations present situation is that?

On Wednesday, lady parts grievance-monger and full-time Obama cheerleader Sandra Fluke brought her rah-rah-victimhood routine to the University of Florida.
45 Fake Catholics Show Up for a "Catholics For Obama Rally
I miss Sam! He would have had a BLAST in this political climate.
They got that many?
We just felt we couldnt do a rally, but we felt a healthy dialogue among Catholics was important.
Why do liberals get away with substituting the word “felt” for “thought”?
They run around the world feeling instead of thinking and if these particular unthinking group of people would think they would discover that they are not Catholic, they haven’t consulted the Catechism of the Catholic Church in any way since 2nd grade and they would THINK that they have no right to scandalize a 2000 year old group Founded by.. . .
OK I’ll stop, but please do not say The Church Went along with blah blah blah Franco etc whether it’s true or not because that would imply to a thinking person like many of you Freepers, that these unthinking people represent the Catholic Church. They have no acqueintenceship with the Church.

such a joke. first of all, anybody can claim they are catholic, and then just goot and trash cathloicism.
its kind of like gun control. there’s a guy named john rosenthal who heads stophandguniolence. whenever he’s on the radio, he always makes a point to say he’s a registered gun owner. big deal, how disengenuous.
they’re all sneaks.
by the way, catholics for obama’s website asks, (no kidding)
is obama prolife? YES..... i kid you not
well, they have one thing in common with obama, pathalogcal liar.
Only because conservatives let them. I had a conversation with a liberal obama supporter who yammered about what she "felt" was true. I told her she was welcome to form her opinions base on "feelings," I would base mine on reality. She immediately got the message and shut up.
Since it is generally useless to try to communicate verbally with lower life forms I recommend this approach, to conserve energy amd not waste oxygen.
There were more than 45 people “attending” the fallen tree in my neighborhood the other day.
Do you really even have to ask that?
Republicans are not Fascists. The Democrats, as much as I don't like them, are not Communists openly killing clergy and taking over churches.
Your analogy doesn't hold.

Bump!
The analogy is that neither side is desirable yet an outside force for good has to choose between the lesser of two evils...yet any compromise between good and evil is a victory for evil.
Our Priest didn’t tell us who to vote for, but it was made real clear without naming names was against life and religious freedom. This is not a political parish either, although it is pro-life.
Did an intern write this article? Could the author not even bother to ask why these Catholics decided that Obama’s policies were most in accordance with their beliefs? Could the author not probe even a slight bit and ask a why question?
Lol. Imagine Sam’s reaction to Obama’s gay marriage stance.
Was Sandra Fluke there?
...and don’t forget that the Catholic Church persecuted Galileo for agreeing with Copernicus...the church “couldn’t handle the truth!”
Shoulda waited until after the election to strip religious freedom away from the “social justice” mob and God from the Demonrat’s platform. This was a tad too much to spin with the God people.
since neither one of those guys are running for president, who cares....they are just small pieces of skelton by now...unable to vote...
By all means, let’s ignore history and embrace candidates who will happily vow to protect and defend the constitution and then spend their political careers subverting it.
By that logic, any compromise with any civil authority would be "a victory for evil" since any civil authority is a greater or lesser evil. Until the Lord returns, we'll have to make do with some degree of compromise.
...and dont forget that the Catholic Church persecuted Galileo for agreeing with Copernicus...the church couldnt handle the truth!
In Galileo's day, none of the scientific authorities believed him either, because he made his claims with no data. Beyond that, he was pompous about it; he had been instructed to not forward the theory without proof. The imprisonment happened after he launched a personal attack on the Pope, who had at a point before that had actually assisted Galileo.
Late in his life, Johannes Kepler used the data that Tycho Brahe had collected -- but even though Galileo had been "right" about heliocentrism, he was still a pompous ingrate. Not only had he insulted his former supporter, the pope, he rejected Kepler's theory because Galileo preferred circular orbits while Kepler hypothesized elliptical ones (based on real data!).
The "Catholic Church persecuted Galileo" meme is very tired, and giving it credit requires one to suspend disbelief.
Another dud for the dud.
45 People Show Up For Attempted Catholics CINOs For Obama Event In Colorado
BS!
Galileo was no pompous ingrate...you must be thinking of Newton. Galileo, naive as he was, went out of his way not to offend. His only crime was standing up for his beliefs...the “truth” as it turned out. He was only affirming his agreement with a predecessor.
Galileo might have expected justice from Urban the 6th but it was not forthcoming. Urban relinquished his beliefs for the sake of the church. I’m not sure what indulgences sold for at that time, but I bet Urban purchased a few.
Read it yourself. Galileo had sympathies of Cardinal Barberini (later Urban VIII) and Cardinal Bellarmine. The relevant paragraph:
Earlier, Pope Urban VIII had personally asked Galileo to give arguments for and against heliocentrism in the book, and to be careful not to advocate heliocentrism. He made another request, that his own views on the matter be included in Galileo's book. Only the latter of those requests was fulfilled by Galileo. Whether unknowingly or deliberately, Simplicio, the defender of the Aristotelian Geocentric view in Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems, was often caught in his own errors and sometimes came across as a fool. Indeed, although Galileo states in the preface of his book that the character is named after a famous Aristotelian philosopher (Simplicius in Latin, Simplicio in Italian), the name "Simplicio" in Italian also has the connotation of "simpleton".[56] This portrayal of Simplicio made Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems appear as an advocacy book: an attack on Aristotelian geocentrism and defence of the Copernican theory. Unfortunately for his relationship with the Pope, Galileo put the words of Urban VIII into the mouth of Simplicio. Most historians agree Galileo did not act out of malice and felt blindsided by the reaction to his book.[57] However, the Pope did not take the suspected public ridicule lightly, nor the Copernican advocacy. Galileo had alienated one of his biggest and most powerful supporters, the Pope, and was called to Rome to defend his writings. (emphases mine)
To sum up the whole incident:
Actually, in some ways, his lack of docility is similar to the lack of docility that is shown by some of the people mentioned in the original article.
