As of right now, only 2,841,121 votes separate the two. That's 2 percentage points, 2 percentage points of the total. Hardly an insurmountable hurdle in future elections. That relatively small number is not an indication that America has turned against the GOP and is convincingly on the side of becoming a Western European style nanny state. In a growing country, Obama has yet to match Bush's vote total from 2004. I know more votes are being counted, but Obama is way off his 2008 pace.
Romney lost the swing states he needed by a combined 373,141 votes. Ohio -100,142 Florida -47,016 Virginia -112,884 Colorado -113,099
A mere 373,200 votes could have the Dems singing the same song the GOP is singing today. And they'd be frustrated over the loss of 9 million votes for Obama as of now.

It sounds to me like we're saying the same thing. I fully realize the Marxist takeover began long ago. I never claimed Obama was the beginning.
Absolutely. Public schooling is right in the Communist Manifesto. In order to realize their vision Marxists knew that had to culturally change America. This was done through public schooling and the popular culture (media). Public schooling has a particularly corrosive effect because
Young minds are easily shaped (taught to be good little citizens of the state etc.)
Dumbing down (stupid people need government; has anyone wondered why there are so many incredibly stupid people out there?)
Before that question can be evaluated, how many people were Republicans?

Maybe EVERY working, tax paying citizen in the US just ought to stay home on the same day . . . just to send a message. Or alter our tax withholding to zero for a couple of pay periods. That might make them think, also.
