FBI probe of Petraeus' emails purportedly led to discovery of extramarital affair

The FBI investigation that led to the discovery of CIA Director David Petraeus’ extramarital affair and his resignation Friday started when the agency began monitoring Petraeus’ email, Fox News has learned. The agency was alerted that biographer Paula Broadwell, with whom Petraeus had the affair, may have had access to his personal email account.

The FBI investigation began when someone reported suspicious emails allegedly sent from Broadwell. The agency then determined that she allegedly had emailed a number of government employees. The FBI was at one point trying to determine whether any of the employees were being stalked, sources told Fox News.

Petraeus, who turned 60 on Wednesday, met his wife when he was a cadet at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. She was the daughter of the academy superintendent. They have two children, and their son led an infantry platoon in Afghanistan.

Holly Petraeus also works in the Obama administration, for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Petraeus met with President Obama on Thursday before submitting his letter of resignation, which the president accepted. In a message to staff, Petraeus said he asked "to be allowed" to step down.

I also find it impossible to believe that the head of the CIA does not understand the risk of email communications. There is much more to this.

Nothing is ever as it appears when it comes to politics. The MSM covers and lies and the internet is a swarm of wild and crazy speculation. The problem with issues like this, is our enemies see it. That’s the part that bothers me.
I’m going to watch the story, take what I read with a grain of salt and see how it all unfolds.

Petraeus may never testify is my guess. More likely, he will experience a “suicide”, have a fatal heart attack or something similar (Clinton’s way of eliminating problems).

The gov knew about the affair and are using that as a lever to shut him up about Bengazi. No matter what, he MUST be made to talk.

What the? She was sending stalkerish emails to government employees using his email account? Sounds like she was getting some revenge on him. Right?

Anybody who takes at face value the story that the FBI was investigating the DCI without the FBI director immeditately informing the president in person, is too stupid to be allowed outside of a care facility.

Or, they are damned liars. (The MSM.)

Mueller himself would demand an audience with Obama the moment he learned about the security breach at the very top of the CIA. He would go in person, that very day, and he would not be deterred by Axlerod or Jarrett or anybody else. He would deliver this message in person. He would have to do so. If he didn’t, he could be fired or worse for gross dereliction of duty and other security-related charges.

It’s going to be interesting to ask Mueller when he told the president about the FBI’s investigation of the DCI.

Obviously, Obama has known about it for months.

This might be a lie so big that even the MSM won’t be able to cover it up.

Fast and Furious and Faster and even more Furious we got going here. A slow motion meltdown of the entire intel and justice system in this country. There is no one left to trust. The ones we trusted jumped ship long ago rather than compromise themselves.

Anyone wanting on or off this ping list, please advise.

Mesta you are on target. Saw another post about it is all a show. On target on that post too. Yep, everyone can trust no-one. Works out to be that way throughout History and then there is the Math. May should use less conjunctions, like in the present with this post. It worked, in fiction, with robots. <-—Maybe.

Seems like the FBI failed in it’s duties to vet the incoming
CIA director. Petraeus affair reportedly ended in 2011 - before he accepted his CIA position.

SEX could be the “hook” that pulls a few MSM reporters into covering Benghazi.

Petreaus has a lot to answer for, especially about his early take on the bogus Mohammed video excuse.

Let him take the 5th and damn himself to the hall of traitors forever.

Or let him tell the truth, in an attempt to redeem his honor.

Either way, it’s history being made.

Or, he might go on a canoe trip or picnic in Fort Marcy Park.

The stakes don’t get much bigger. Eternal Disgrace. John Dean Cubed. Murdered to shut his mouth forever.

Not to mention, when Mueller is asked under oath when he told Obama about the FBI investigating the DCI.

It doesn’t get bigger than this. The MSM will wind up covering it, for sure. (I hope.)

I heard Friday, “Banghazi? Who cares? It’s a non-story. The real story is that the Demeocrats won and re-elected Obama. Nobody cared before the election and no one cares now. Let the extreme right-wing segment of the Republican party continue this ridiculous investigation instead of helping those in need. It’s going nowhere.”

Did Israel Honey Trap David Petraeus?

November 9th, 2012 | Author: Patriot

With the breaking news on General Petraeus (http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/cia-chief-petraeus-resigns-reportedly-over-affair-201305343–politics.html) you might be interested in taking a look at the Mondoweiss.net link (at the following New Statesman article) which broke the story about email exchanges with David Petraeus which US mainstream media ignored as well (as also mentioned on Press TV via http://tinyurl.com/proisraelbiasedmedia & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEtASJOjDU8).

“And those on this forum who think that someone who agreed to put his life on the line for 30+ years and who agreed to go where he has to go 24/7 at the beck and call of the nation for 30+years (flag officers are probably paid on an hourly basis less than your car mechanic) agreed to be a monk just are plain out of their skull.”

He also implicitly agreed to adhere to the UCMJ during those 30+ years or face the consequences.

The day after Benghazi, instead of looking for the terrorists, the administration immediately began investigations of Americans who might not be completely loyal to them. Something about one of his emails referring to “under the desk” (something illegal) triggered the investigation, only to find it was sex under the desk. Yeah right.

"No One" at the General's level (4 star) is THAT STUPID.

No One. Period.

This whole thong is a high-level chess game.

Where is it headed ?

The NYT tipped-it-off yesterday ... when they began their "character assination" assualt against the General.

The NYT works DIRECTLY for the "Treasonous Liar From Kenya" (Obama) ...

Obama wants the General DESTROYED.

And Obama may have bitten-off more than he can chew ...

I expect that kind of behavior from a run of the mill spook. Not from the head of the CIA. And certainly not from a president.

So the guy who married the West Point Superintendent’s daughter he met while attending West Point, hooks up with a potential whoring gold digger, collecting infor for a biography? He marries the bosses daughter, so to speak. Then he shacks up with a young honey, who is ever so interested in his life.

I’m sorry, he’s a cheater. get divorced if you want to have sex with someone else, but don’t cheat!
