DPS needs some Warthogs...
I fail to become properly outraged that Texas allows it’s officers to fire of fleeing suspects from aircraft. It might be the only “Mexican Border” state that does so, but I know Alaska employs helicopters in fugitive pursuits and has dispatched at least one bad guy from same.
My criticism isn’t about their allowing it to be done, it’s about their marksmanship.
“its about their marksmanship”
They appear to be 2 and 0 to me.
Besides, you wouldn’t want them ruining a perfectly good pick-up truck would you?
The families will not be able to go ahead with those wrongful death lawsuits they stood ready to file.
Michael Silka May of 84 ?
Well, I say this looks like its time for Cali, Az, and New Mex to get some aerial target acquisition and engagement training programs under way.
And maybe the northern border states can get on board with the Canadian hordes massing for their invasion. (course most of them go to Hollywood...:;)
Just deputize private pilots AND offer a bounty on illegals who are trespassing at night. Under present Texas laws, a trespasser may be shot at night.
Add a bounty for such illegals and the Aporkalypse Now folks would soon branch out. Google the “Aporkalypse Now” video if not familiar with this interesting and totally Texan solution to a pest problem which multiplies faster than an illegal alien.
Bounties - good enough for the Old West is good enough for now.
That’s the one I was thinking of.
Every Texan knows that DPS is not to messed with. They have certain authorities that can really ruin your day.
As far as illegals go, I say classify them vermin and have an Open Season, No Bag Limit on them.
