Kyl suggests Benghazi 'cover-up'
Sen. Jon Kyl, (R-Ariz.) suggests the Obama administration orchestrated a "cover-up" of the events that led to the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead. "There are three questions that have to be answered," Kyl said in an interview aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," appearing on a panel with three other retiring senators. "Why weren't the warnings about the need for security heeded? Why weren't the requests for help during the ted attack answered and why did the administration think it had to cover up all the things that occurred before by putting out to the American people a narrative that I think will turn out to be absolutely false?"
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), agreed, saying that more than 10 days after the deadly attack, "top level people" were disseminating incorrect information.
"I am very concerned about the fact that on Sept. 11 this happened, and on Sept. 20, the Senate was given a classified briefing and they were still, the top level people were still telling us the same thing. They were telling us things that we knew, that we even saw in the press were not correct information," she said. "Now, Benghazi was a consulate. it wasn't a full embassy. I think if we have learned one thing, it is that maybe we should close consulates and give the full protection to our ambassadors who were willing to risk this kind of upheaval, so i do think we need to go into this in depth. I think this if there were military people trying to get in and they were being told no, no, no repeatedly we need to fix that."

I stopped reading after “three retiring senators”. It should have said “since no senator in office has an ounce of courage or gives a damn about this country, three retiring senators are all we could get to discuss the situation.”
The entire Barry Benghazi regime is one big cover-up but everyone is afraid to do anything about it for fear of being called a “rasis” by the white boy commie thugs.
Within two hours of finding out, I knew there was a cover up as the people out in the streets were not acting as they did when the Space shuttle blew up.
Our ambassador was killed in-country and people don’t know how to react without the propaganda media telling them how to. And the media covered it up.
As much as they could.
If the GOP dheads, McCain the insane and graham think they can cover it up and side with the enemy, such as it is, they’re going to find out later that they can not. the enemy is watching us toss this around like Larry, Moe & Curly trying to unload a hot potato.
We will pay for it.
Kyl & Hutchinson and some investigative journalists will be wise to fix it. If they don’t, the next generation will have to after it becomes more difficult/impossible. Tey’ll be too busy paying for Obama
s vote debt at that point.

If you really hate a ship and want to destroy it, what better way than to appoint yourself its captain, and steer it into the rocks?
The bottom line to Benghazi is “so what?” Given that the US is facing disastrous crises like Obamacare, horrific levels of debt, massive new taxes, terribly high unemployment, etc., etc., it is a darned *shame* that four Americans were killed, but there is not a damned thing we can do about it after the fact.
Committing any time to Benghazi, by anyone, is just wasting time. Like Monica Lewinsky’s dress when the Clintons had been committing major offenses, felonies, all over the map, that were then all swept under the rug by Ken Starr.

Gee. Ya think? Can’t tell you how sick I got of Democrats singing “Iran Contra” over and over, with the help of “celebrities” singing it endlessly. - Sort of like “Bain Capital” for Romney.
Virtually all of the noise from both sides is a coverup. Where is the discussion from ANYBODY in congress about the embassy facilitation weapons going from Benghazi to the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria???
I didn’t say F&F. Unless pardoned, a bunch of Justice Department officials, in or out of their offices, as well as BATF&E, and others, are facing criminal indictments after Obama is out of office. They are safe until them. So though F&F will continue to be investigated, and kept on the back burner, it will live again.
But Benghazi is pretty much defunct as an issue. It happened in Libya, which was obligated by treaty to protect our embassy and its property, and they did not. Just about every question that can be raised about it falls flat.
A weak response, no response, shuffling blame, none of this is criminal. It just shows Obama and his crew have a piss poor foreign policy. Obama himself is above impeachment, because of the senate.
Now compare this to the “fiscal cliff”, sequestration, raising the debt cap, Obamacare, and massive tax hikes ALL happening at about the same time. Millions more unemployed, massive cuts to the military, we are talking about some terrible stuff here.
Sorry, Benghazi is just a waste of time, and nothing will come of it, ever.

Ms Hutchinson, you say it wasn’t an embassy but rather a consulate. That would have been the perfect time to raise the question “why was our ambassador in a consulate instead of an embassy on the anniversary of 9/11 after having said that he feared for his life?”
Benghazi does not matter? not as important as other issues? Waste of time?

This generation of new voters went for Obama in huge numbers. THEY will be the ones that will pay the price for it after I am gone. This country is strong and resilient and it will take a while for the musical chairs to play out and fully go down the tubes. But it will happen and it will be ugly.

The POTUS has effectively been above the law since Marbury v. Madison (1810). However, since then, their power has increased to the point where they can frequently violate the law, with only the ineffective threat of impeachment to stop them.
In recent years, the POTUS has been able to co-opt legislative and judicial powers without opposition or even challenge. And though cabinet officers can be impeached, only one ever has been, and then only after he resigned.
The house citing the Attorney General for contempt of congress has become meaningless.
When commerce secretary Ron Brown was assassinated for selling National Security Agency secrets to the Chinese, it was done in such a way as to assure everyone that it had been ordered by the government, if not at the sole order of the POTUS.
When senior officials of both parties were asked about this, they all gave the same unresponsive and bizarre response, that “It is against the policy of the United States to assassinate foreign officials.”
Obama is openly responsible for dozens, perhaps hundreds of directed homicides via drone, which many around the world would call indiscriminate murder. But such directed homicide is also pro forma of the Special Operations Command (SOCOM), who have been conducting their own war parallel to the conventional war.
You asserted that I don’t think that this matters. That is incorrect. But it matters not just because of Obama, but because this is what the office of the POTUS has become. The office itself needs significant reform, and reduction in its unbridled authority, because now it is approaching, or has become, the much feared “imperial presidency”.
Benghazi does not matter. It is a pebble in an ocean, soon expecting a tsunami. It is tragic that four Americans lost their lives. But Americans are being killed by terrorists on a daily basis.
I don’t believe one single Obama voter cares one iota about Bengazi. It could be proven without doubt there was a serious cover-up and dem voters will not care. They want Obama no matter what he does.
